Geez some of your comparisons in this thread...yikes

i thought some posters on here said they would see him at the bar smoking cigs, etc

I highly doubt he went from playing and playing well in the first 2 games to not playing at all. He's likely been hurt from game 3 on because his season stats matchup pretty much with games 1 and 2.
I actually agree with this statement, but the fact that he is hurt again could speak to his lack of conditioning. Not saying injuries don't happen, but they happen more frequently to out of shape players.

If he was hurt why did he continue to play then? He is listed as playing in 6 games.

you're going to pretend that Deion Jones was anything more than a special teams player after 2 years?
you're telling me that had Deion Jones left after his Fr or Soph year, that people would have been bummed out? lol

Debo was at least able to contribute heavily on STs for 3 years. CG wasn't in a position to contribute at all.
I don't see what that has to do with CG anyway. He chose to transfer.

because we all know JUCO teams keep great stats.
Standout in his first 2 games to not recording a tackle in the next 4. Makes sense.
Put the puzzle pieces together

Doesn't count. We can't say he wasn't ddeicated because he didn't fail on the field in an actual game. Only then can Lester blame the player, and not the coaches.

you said the coaches didnt think he was good enough to play. This after just 1 year.
Deion Jones hasnt been good enough to play until this year. Not hating on Jones, just using him as an example on why your logic is flawed.

Eh. You're starting to reach there. He wasn't standing out. But you could be right about the stats in general. Are they not applied to the first two games too then?

Your injury theory is likely, but he could have also blown coverages, committed penalties, etc to take him off the field.

well yea, that's kind of different then him sucking or not being talented. He also tore the labrum in his shoulder in january 14'. That lingered well into the summer
I guess I don't really see the difference. As others have pointed out he couldn't even scratch the depth chart. Whether he was physically incapable of getting better or just didn't want to, it doesn't really change that he is a former 5* recruit who is not a productive football player. Injury is an obvious exception, but if the labrum tear were the only thing holding him back then he would still be here, due to the depth issues you pointed out.

I haven't blamed anyone. Certainly not the coaches.
Just laughing at how he can go from hero to zero in 1 year because he didn't get on the field. The assumptions in this thread are laughable
Posted on 10/26/15 at 3:21 pm to Lester Earl
Well, the coaches didn't think he was good enough to be listed ahead of a walk on who's now a backup on offense.

I get your point. It's just a natural reaction on this board or any other board I imagine.
It sucks we don't have him bc the fact of the matter is we need bodies in the LB corps.

I agree with his point in general. But using CG as his tent post is a bad example to use. From the first month he got on campus, we were hearing things about his work ethic, his fat, etc. Never turned around.

i had already went thru the game logs as I had mentioned earlier in this thread. Despite listed as playing in 6 games, he wasn't in the box score for any of the next 4 games. I didn't mean the stats were off, just the games played number.

Gotcha. That makes more sense.

Why does it have to be purely one way or the other? You don't think it's possible coaches realized he was both overrated out of highschool and ALSO lacked the commitment to get better? That's an awful combination and by all accounts is exactly what happened.
