I've been parking on W Roosevelt by that little softball/baseball field for free at the football games for years without any issues. Got broken into last night. They knew what they were doing. They were good. They hit a whole line of cars on the W Roosevelt side of that little field by those old apartments. Cops said this is the second week in a row. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I park over that way myself, due to the rain I found a different spot, so I got lucky. I hate to hear that and I hope the POS get caught. Thanks for the heads up.

I have parked there for years without a problem. Don't leave anything of value in sight and don't drive a Rolls Royce and you'll be fine.

I lived in those shite apartments back in the 80's. It sucked even back in those days. Constant car burglaries and an occasional residential break in as well. It was incredibly cheap and convenient but, the area sucked.

I agree with someone said. A developer should buy that area and redevelop it. It would be a gold mine due to the proximity to LSU.

Serious question are any other schools in the SEC bordered by ghettos?

I had been parking over there for years until they broke my glass during the Alabama game last year. I filed a report with the BPD. They know who is doing it, the officer said it's the same set of guys doing it every game north of campus. The officer said they are targeting out of state tags and anyone who has anything valuable in their vehicles north of campus. He said park on campus or south of campus to avoid this. What's makes me mad is you know who is doing it, then arrest them, then they get out again and break into cars over and over. What a judicial system we have.

Been parking in same general area for 10 plus years, mainly because of relative ease in arriving and leaving, without incident. When you say they knew what they were doing, were they able to avoid the car alarms (most cars today come equiped) or was this more of smash and grab?

I lived on Iris St during grad school for 3 years. Always left my truck unlocked with nothing in it in the driveway. Sketchy neighborhood, but I bever had a problem. Being poor helped!
