Yeah it seems like a hike. I normally take Uber everywhere on business trips but with a game going on, not sure that would be wise. Pedicab would be a good call.

I normally go out to barcadia, lucy's and things in that part of town at night to stay away from the crowds. Still be a safe bet?

That's exactly my point. I haven't seen you since last offseason and you seemed to always (or at least most of the time) post semi intelligent things or at least posts with some minor form of thought invested. It's nice to get different viewpoint every now and then.

However, I've seen you posting again the last couple of days and you either got hit with the dumb hammer or the troll hammer, maybe both. Seems a very minor amount of team success breeds douchery.

Not a bad walk at all from where you are staying; pedicab would be the only way I would get there outside of walking; but I enjoy leaving early and popping in a bar or two and getting a beer. I live a block from Lucy's and walk to every game. Lucy's and barcadia should have a decent pregame crowd and no one messes with opposing fans outside of some trash talk. I usually grab my first beer there then walk to Champions square to watch the band and maybe grab a bite from one of the food trucks. I'm always in the dome around 45 mins-hour before kickoff.

Have fun but also frick off

The best places to pregame are in New Orleans East. Just hang out there first and catch a cab in.

Oh, I misread your post then, my bad. Definitely the troll hammer.

Trying to stoke the fires around here cause everything seems doom and gloom.
It's saints vs. falcons damnit!!!

Mate, thanks for visiting NOLA and supporting our number one revenue stream, tourism.

Good luck to you and your Falcon baws. My tip is to wait until within 2 hours of kickoff to score the best deal on great seats to the big game.

Technically in town for work but my dollars spent on food and fun blend in nicely with the tourist dollars

Also I had seen your advice a week or two ago about waiting til 2 hours before which I have taken. I am happy to report that a couple NOLA friends will be going to the game after all. Granted I won't have a seat with them, but pre-game festivities will be had

That's a pretty good walk, 1-1.5 miles, so make sure you allocate enough time. You'd have to go down Magazine to Poydras, but it's not that bad and the weather should be perfect (low-mid 70s).

This. Canal and Poydras angle away from each other as you head lakeside. But they almost touch at Harrah's. Closer you are to the river, the closer Poydras is to Canal.

If that sounds confusing, all the street names change at Canal. Decatur turns into Magazine.

Oh, and for postgame, there's a Falcons bar at the corner of Bourbon and St. Ann.

Ha, I am in NOLA quite a bit. Your mistake was saying there was a Falcons bar in NOLA. Also pretty sure I know which "happy" bar you are referring too. Ones you pass on the way to Lafittes i assume

I also normally stay at the La Meridien next to Harrahs since I like Lucy's and Barcadia. Work is at Tulane Medical Center, so I know the area pretty well, but never have gone to the Dome. This time I am staying at BlueGreen Vacations Club (was the only place available)

Couldn't resist.

I always turned around and went back toward Canal when I hit St. Ann. But I never spent much time in the Quarter anyway. Overpriced, especially compared to the bars near the universities.

Nice - I love Le Meridien's.

Pissed I waited so long to switch from Hilton to Starwood.

Yes. When you finish watching the game at the Dome at night, go walk around in Armstrong Park. There will be a Falcons fan rally there.

Forgot to mention that World of Beer opened up about a month ago and it's just 2 blocks from Lucy's in the warehouse district. A few buddies and I will be there at 5:00. Bring your dirty bird arse by and I'll buy you a Schlitts

Haha sorry chuckiee just now seeing this. I ended up on poydras outside of walkons. My coworker ended up getting tickets for us in the club level along with bud light zone passes. Had an absolute blast. Had not a single problem with anyone. The game went how I expected but I was very impressed by the whole experience. Ended up at Jimani afterwards. I appreciate everyone's suggestions, awesome trip.
