Per the Jazz man himself:
For all those clamoring that It's not the Defense! It's high time to stop trying to defend any aspect of this team. They are well below average across the board, offense, defense and special teams.

@JeffDuncan_: After simplifying the scheme, hiring Dennis Allen as sr. def. asst & adding 6 new starters, the Saints enter W6 ranked last in total defense

Look, it's pretty simple. The NFL is a passing league now and the Saints haven't been able to do anything to disrupt that against any of their opponents for a long time now.

No pass rush brah. At all.

Defense gave up 300 yards in the first half last game, but only 7 points
Who really gives a shite about total yards
They kept us in the arizona game after a rough start, forced 2 4q turnovers in the bucs game, and kept us in the eagles game for a good bit
They haven't been the issue and were expected to struggle given the youth, junior, and injuries

This is why stats are stupid and misleading. The Saints are not 1-4 because of the defense.

If this season doesn't get Bill Johnson and Joe Vitt fired, literally nothing will.
I want Sean to stay for another year or two to give him the chance to turn it around. I think he has earned that.
But he's got to make some serious changes.

plus, sustain an drive and score from time to time and the defense stays on the sideline, where they belong

Last in yards IS a issue just not as big as the offense scoring under 20 ppg.
As cricket said its top to bottom young or not. We are in a rebuild and the FO and coaches just don't want to say so!

If only Brees didn't turn it over nonstop.

Nice smartass answer. I guess they played better in the 2nd half since they gave up less yards
Defense can only do so much when they are consistently put in bad situations against a fast paced offense
They weren't the ones going 3 and out with 4 turnovers
Way to ignore the rest of what I said too

Wonder if we can get this guy to shore up our D?

Pointing out the defensive deficiencies isn't singing the offense's praises. My entire point is that this team is bereft of talent across the board, in every facet of the game.

I can't say there is any part of our team that I'm proud of. They are all bad and the blame can be spread around.

If I thought that yardage given up wasn't correlated with points, I'd agree with you.
But, using last week as an example, we were very lucky to have only given up 7 points. Both of those interceptions were bad throws. The 2nd one wasn't quite as bad as the first, but Breaux was beaten and a good throw is a TD.

Drew Brees is a future HOF QB and he's helped turn this franchise from laughing stock to legitimate contender. He's done everything right and more. Yet you complain. Fine, if not Drew Brees...who's in the top 4 best QB's annually in the NFL for the last 10 years or so...who? You want Blake Bortles? You want Josh McCown? How about Tyrod Taylor? Or Mark Sanchez? Nick Foles? Ryan Fitzpatrick?

Slob Ryan needs to pack his arse up with CSP and gtfo. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya boys.
