To Rob Ryan and his defensive brilliance and exotic blitz packages

Pointing out the defensive deficiencies isn't singing the offense's praises. My entire point is that this team is bereft of talent across the board, in every facet of the game.

I agree. And I don't want to sound like an alarmist, but I'm developing some concerns about our ability to make to playoffs this year.

I wondered what SP saw in Ryan. He didn't do much at Dallas. His D is like a strainer. After hundreds of DB drafts you would think the Saints have the highest paid DB's just by the numbers. Guess you draft forever DB;s hoping to get 2 who can play, not mentioning the DL and LB's. Scheme is not helping I think.

Was this in question? Has someone claimed our defense is anything but garbage? If so, they should just be disregarded

Our defense has some promising young players (Anthony, Breaux, and Kikaha) and some proven vets (Lewis, Byrd, Ellerbe, Browner). They have enough talent to where they shouldn't be last in the league, but they are in part due to absolutely no pass rush and a coordinator who is clueless on what do with the talent he has.

Ryan is done in New Orleans. One anomaly of a year followed by two years of being one of the worst D's in the league. Not really sure who we will look to fill his spot (Dennis Allen?) but we desperately need major changes at the positional coaches on the D side of the ball.

The two units are interlinked. If the offense moves the chains on a consistent basis, even if they're not putting up that many points, the defense is on the field less.

We don't have a good defense. That much is clear, but we wouldn't have the last ranked defense if our offense was anywhere near competent.

We lack talent- pure & simple. I hate free agency and most of all the cap!
