Hey guys, picked up this 3 burner over the weekend from the Schoolhouse Antique Mall in Washington.
I've been wanting one for a while now, and the price was right, considering that they are nearly 3 times the cost on Ebay with shipping.
It's a 426-D, built in March of 1973.

Old fuel stoves and lanterns are great. I have a newer Coleman dual-fuel I keep just in case I lose power in the winter up here again. Little sucker puts out 10,000 BTU which is almost enough to use as an emergency heater in my apartment.

pretty nice old stove there...I have a couple of old stoves and lanterns. if it was daylight, I'd post some pics for you, but it is too late for that stuff tonight.

Do you have any experience with the Coleman heaters? Some of them look like they'd put out some decent heat. Of course, I'd never use one inside, but might come in handy, you never know.

I like looking at the old Coleman stuff, reminds me of when I was a kid. One thing, this stove is HEAVY. Definitely not one to bring on a backpacking trip. It will be great for truck camping.

yep...throw in an old, musky smelling canvas tent and that would bring back some serious memories...
I try to drag out my old stove a time or two per year when it is cool enough to cook a gumbo on gameday...something I really look forward to.

Not their heaters, did use a propane Buddy Heater for a few days when I lost power after a snowstorm up here. Worked ok but I now have this kerosene heater and it works very well.

Those look like they'd work real well. I believe a relative of mine had one or something similar, but I never had the opportunity to see it in use.

Reminds me of Hurricane Andrew when I was a kid, cooked our meals on that for a few days

Here is a picture of a couple of old lanterns I got going back in the winter. Smelling that kerosene burning really brought back memories of fishing on a creek bank with my dad.
The one on the left is burning Coleman fuel and the other is kerosene.

Had two of these in my house when I moved in. One is February 1969 and the other is January 1971:
Both still work
Both still work

The one on the left appears to be a Model 228F, the one on the right is probably a Model 242.
One of these days I'll have to get a Coleman kerosene lantern. I'm old enough to remember when all the gas stations and Mom and Pop grocery stores around town had kerosene dispensers.
I picked up an old 228F the same time I got this stove. However, the chimney on it is not in very good shape, will probably have to replace it. It was only $12, so a few more dollars spent on it and I should have another decent lantern to use.

I have a few old ones from back in the early 50's. I'm like Cgrand, screw a mantle.

I have a couple of 425's, an E model and an F model, I believe.
One of them malfunctioned on me back in the mid 90's. It's been in storage ever since. I believe something was stuck in the manifold, causing all that gas to back up and leak all over the stove. The flames were awesome.
Guess I'll have to see if I can restore it. It's pretty rusty and dirty.

I've got my grandad's old gear. All of it works, but I need to get it out and see what years it was made. I have a 2 burner stove, lantern, small single burner stove and a big heater

Most Coleman products have the month and year stamped on the bottom of the fuel tank. Sometimes they are hard to see, especially if you have a lot surface rust.

Awesome pictures.
I love the old Coleman lanterns and stoves. When we cleaned my grandfathers' shed a couple years ago I found an old 1954 Sears lantern. It was blue. Got it working good then broke the glass case.
Also inherited an old 2 burner coleman stove. Still use it every time we go camping.
I love the smell of the kerosene lanterns.
Brings back tons of memories camping/hunting with my dad and grandfather.

i have a stove in my garage that was for my great uncle. I will have to go look tonight at the date, but it has to be from the 70's . I had the matching lantern, but it fell off my 4 wheeler onto the road on the way to the camp years ago.
