The point of having a "mansion" is that you can do most things right there at the house. Cook outside, party with friends and family, take a swim in the cement pond, play with your dogs and other animals, garden, etc.
City dwellers amaze me. As if getting up and trudging to the coffee shop is an adventure.

Same here. I wouldn't live in a city if it was free. I got to be in a place I can take a piss in my back yard if I feel like it. I need quiet surroundings and a chance to see the milky way. Living like an insect is not my idea of living.

You can't do those things at an apartment building?

Meh, I prefer to be able to go out my front door and walk to bars, restaurants, parks, grocery stores, etc...
I walk to a bar and not worry about having to have a DD to get home, I can just walk home.
If I lived 45 minutes from the city I wouldn't be able to enjoy happy hours, spontaneous trips to a brewery, or live music, because of the driving situation.

I would hate to live in the country in the middle of nowhere. I live in the suburbs Suburban life is not great at times for my liking but it is necessary for being able to afford to raise kids and have a family. Über is great for when the wife and I want a night on the town by ourself.
