fwiw, as soon as i heard the news this morning that the game might be moved to BR, i booked a couple of hotel rooms for the game (i live in Houston) at $129/night and $119/night for the Courtyard Marriott on Acadian and the big Marriott, respectively.. Just checked again and those same rooms are around $200, which maybe means that the hotels are being blocked out for players, staff, other fans, etc.

I'm not sure how Arizona St did tickets sales, anyone know?

That was back when Sun Devil stadium held more than 70k people (massive for a school in that region), and the Arizona schools (at least at the time) didn't have the ticket demand that SEC schools have, so it's not really comparable. I think I recall them having a ticket exchange program set up before making the remaining tickets public, but I bought my $10 ticket at the walk-up window about 30 minutes before kickoff. Very different situation.

Regarding tickets bonnette basically said the game day experience for the fans would be the same as any other home game. Season ticket holders will get their same seats. I would imagine scar would not use many of the standard 7k allotment given to the away team. Those seats could be offered to Lsu fans who had scar away tickets and who aren't also season ticket holders. It's not that difficult

Just a guess, but lsutix.net is probable capable of offering season ticket holders rights to their seats until a deadline, then offering the unsold tickets to the public. The ticket office has enough experience with baseball regionals and super regionals to handle a quick sale. The same goes for basketball NIT tickets. The biggest hurdle would be how to handle USC's allotment of tickets.

LSU stays in Gonzales don't they? Opposing teams probably stay in one of the burbs too... And I doubt many SC fans are booking rooms right now.

This is on a little bigger scale than a baseball regional...

If it winds up being a USC "home" game, it's very possible they will handle tickets and keep the gate from the game.

Bigger scale yes, but same premise. The point was that the programming for the website is probably already in place. They can pretty much flip a switch and set a deadline. I doubt they do general admission, or put every ticket on sale at the same time without season ticket holders getting first rights.

LSU stays at Lod Cook. Nearly every visiting team stays at Crowne Plaza on Constitution.

Why not just offer them 3.9 and call it even?

Why not have our players just stay at their homes/dorms/apartments and let USCe have the Cook?

Because you want the team under curfew with minimal distractions.

Funny you should say that! There are conveniently no rooms available at the Crowne Plaza.

ETA: Damn, I was beat to the draw.

I'm going to guess one of the first calls when BR was a possibility was to LC and the CP hotels to block rooms.

I think they can be grownups and suck it up for one game.
