Interesting article.
Colston did achieve a lot in his career with the Saints but blaming Drew on his hand injury hmmmm I dont know slant routes are part of the game. My opinion is time has just caught up with Colston and its time to hang it up baby.

Is he getting hit in the hands with these balls that he's dropping? If he is, then it's his own damn fault and maybe he could try catching the goddamn thing.

I hate open letters.
Remember hearing about Colston having doubts about playing after the season opener last year? I think his body is failing him. I think he retires before the season is over.

He will not retire before the end of the season, but this is probably his swan song.

I can see both sides - lots of QBs hang their WR's out to dry fairly often. Peyton Manning nearly got Stokely killed during their time together with the Colts.
Brees is more guilty than most at hanging his WR's out to dry but everybody does it.

And y'all gave me downvotes and a bunch of crap this preseason when I said Colston was done and Coleman was better. The Saints didn't want to bring him back but with his cheap contact they offered

Since it is obviously his last year, can we put together a list of what he needs to be where in the records books (Saints and NFL)? I.E. how many more catches, TDs, yards type thing.
Posted on 9/30/15 at 2:51 pm to saints5021
What Colston needs:
616 yards away from 10,000 career yards (would put him at 46th all time)
23 catches away from 700 career receptions (would put him at 44th all time)
7 TDs away from 75 career TDs (would put him at 29th all time)
I would like to see him meet these milestones this year.

I could see him getting the receptions, but the yds and tds would be tough for him

Yeah, I've never really understood the idea that QBs leave their WRs out to dry. That comes with playing the slot WR spot in the NFL. If anything, it should be on the play caller, but attacking the middle of the field is a necessity and there just so happens to be tackling in football.

Only 3 weeks in, Coleman has at least shown potential

How about showing he can run a route and catch the ball!!! I'm tired of hearing about his potential. He's big. He's fast. STEP THE frick UP COLEMAN!!!

Potential, well that solves the problem.
Oh, and he still only has 83 yards to Colston's 145. You thought he'd be better than this, admit it. He's 4th amongst our receivers in yards

Same can be said for some of the other players that came in with him in 2006

This is the one record he doesn't have a chance to reach...team is just suffering this year...

When he pushed that ball down that hit him in the hands on that second to last drive last week, I gave up 90 percent of my hope on him. Maybe he does step up, I reckon he can, but even a rookie needs to catch the ball when it is delivered. I like his "potential," but, I mean, that was his chance. That's why he's here. Go up for the ball and haul it down. Didn't do it. There was a guy on him, but dang, that's what he's supposed to do. I'm just...waiting on him.
