I hear you
I can remember as a teen spooning up store bought nutmeg...with no effect.

by makinskrillaI had "steal this book" by Abbie Hoffman. It was cooler.
If memory serves, there were some equally ineffective recipes for getting high in that book...techniques on how to "cure" your WWII era planted, fence row pot so you could get high off of it. I didn't know then that there was no THC in that shite and people use to try all sorts of methods to prepare it to get high.

Something about making a pay phone call with a pop-top?
Pop tops would work as quarters in a lot of pay phones and pay laundry washing machines. If you were really tuned in you would get a "blue box" which was designed by the alias "Captain Crunch" and allowed free long distance calls. People doing this were known as "Phone Preaks". Legend says Captain Crunch got his name by his ability to use a Captain Crunch cereal whistle to trick the ATT long distance system by whistling certain tomes into the phone. This was the kind of stuff techno nerds did before there were PCs and hacking.

Remember that book circulating around local BBSes in the '80s and '90s. Some of those phone terms you used bring back some serious nostalgia.

Yeah that was a bad night for me too. We both ate an entire thing of nutmeg. We would pour it in toilet paper and swallow it.
It's nasty stuff, and got nothing from it. Geez that had to be nearly 20 years ago. Morning Glory or Angel trumpets do work though. They make nasty things happen though.

Wasn't Captain Crunch, Steve Wosniak? Or maybe Woz just refrenced him in an interview. I don't know, but I know I heard those exact words you posted in a Wozniack interview.

Yes, lots of the skater/outcast kids had a copy.

I distinctly remember reading about using the peanut skins to get high.

quote:Nutmeg most definitely works, but luckily for you you got the cheap arse powder. When it kicks in it can last a day or long with hangover affects. Most report it not being that fun or worth it. Next time try it with fresh nutmeg and use a grinder.

LSD doesn't come from morning glory seeds, it is LSA which is kinds similar but not as visual. I did do these in college and they worked very well. I could not wipe the smile off my face for anything. Colors looked more sharp and crisp. My only regret was not having any weed, which was why me and my friend tried this.

I had a black box (that's what we called it) it was a mini tape that a friend made possibly from a Commodore 64? It replicated the tones of quarters on ma bell phones. If you picked the phone up and blew into the receiver and heard it in the ear piece it would work. You played the tape, dialed a number, hung up before anyone answered and it would "return" all of your quarters. So the tone replicated maybe 4 bucks and the phone would empty its change.....this was back when salt water in dollar bill slots on Coke machines supposedly did the same.

Some kid went to a local book store and asked if they had one.
Long story short- the cops came to the school and grabbed his arse up out of there with his mom that was a teacher at the school.
No charges or anything of course they just wanted to know why he was interested in acquiring one

What's sad is that 4 bucks in quarters was considered a score....or a bag full of sodas.
