Thinking of taking the wife on a surprise weekend trip to Vegas next month. Besides the usual, what should we do?
And no, she won't go to the Bunny Ranch.

Bunny Ranch is near Reno, anyway. Most of the Cirque shows are good. I can vouch for Mystere, La Reve, O, Ka, and Zarkana. Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is a nice place to eat outdoors, although there are better pure steak places.

Le Reve at the Wynn is amazing. It's not CdS, but just as good IMO.
Pretty much the Wynn in general.

Go see Absinthe at Ceasers. It's the best show in Vegas. It's in a tent in front of the hotel. It's very raunchy and funny. It's supposed to be like an old school traveling circus or sideshow (minus the animals). It only seats maybe 50 or so so you are right on top of the action.

Cirque du Soleil "O" show! This is their best show ever! And I have seen many of their shows.
Celine Dion is performing again. Women really like this.
The buffet at the Orleans Hotel and Casino.

I'd stay at The Encore/Wynn, Venitian/Palazzo or Aria.

Would she be up to see a topless show? I went see fantasy at Luxor the last time I was there. I enjoyed it.

Pretty sure it's cirque. Absinthe at Caesar's Palace is probably the best show going but it's not Cirque. O at the Bellagio is the best of the Cirque shows. Mat Franco has a new Magic show at the Linq that's supposed to be pretty good and then there's Penn and Teller.
If she has any celebrity chefs she likes they all have a restaurant here.

Just go to Los Angeles instead. Las Vegas is overrated

The Beatles "Love" Cirque de Soleil show at the Mirage is excellent.

Go to Kobe Sushi on Decatur and Sunset. Ask for "Me so horny roll". To die for.

While I agree Vegas is overrated LA is a shithole

I'll disagree and say that Day 3 or Day 4 Vegas are overrated. Days 1 and 2 are fun as shite.
Now you can still salvage days 3 and 4 by doing non-party things like hiking in the desert or golfing. But once the drunken "am I still awake?" phase kicks in around mid-Day 3, the slope starts trending downward.

I did this with my fiancé a few months ago. Vegas has so much to do. We stayed at MGM and hit the pool party during the day and hit XS at the Wynn at night.

Can't really go wrong with Cirque shows..... Here are the ones I've seen and they are nothing short of frickING AWESOME.
1. O
2. Love
3. Mystere
4. La Reve
5. Absinthe
6. Michael Jackson's ONE
Don't sit too close, there are so many visual things going on that fill up the entire stage. Sit at least halfway back, if not you will be pissed that you didn't.
Dining in Vegas is so deep, your options are truly unlimited. The restaurant we frequent every time we go is the Eiffel Tower restaurant inside the Paris Casino. It's not new or a "celeb hotspot" but it's a perfect place to have a meal and watch the Bellagio fountains.
