Received collections letter from red light camera "ticket"

Got one of these speed camera fines 14 months ago. Ignored it as most do and waited for the "collections" letter that has now arrived.
In the letter it says: "If you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, you must notify this office, in writing, within 30 days. Otherwise, we assume this debt is valid and will pursue all means available for this collection. Upon receipt of your protest, we will verify the debt and provide you with a copy of such verification."
What's my next move?
- Respond with a "show me where I agreed to this debt" letter?
- Ignore it?
- Torch the speed camera?

Let me know what you do and how this goes. I got one recently and deferred on it.

Responding in any way gives validity that you may pay something. Best to just ignore it.

Not to be that guy but why not just pay it off if you legit ran the light?

Is it for speeding or running a red light?

How was the letter sent? Did you and/or a family member sign for receipt of letter?

Aren't judgements and government fines legally allowed to be on a credit report?

I've never payed a single one and I've had my name ran since then. no warrents, no extra fines, no nothing.

Pay your damn ticket / quit speeding and running red lights.

Also, in the city of New Orleans, if you have an unpaid camera ticket, and you later park illegally, they can boot your car (in addition to the new parking ticket). Just something to keep in mind.

Google collection agency letter or something along those lines.
There is a letter you can print out and send to them.
If they can't produce what the letter asks for then you are not liable.
I did this back along time ago on a bill they claimed my ex owed for around $1700. They couldn't produce the original bill so she didn't owe the debt.
