-Crabtree, small sample but he has looked good through 2 weeks
-Gordon, has all the physical tools and talent, if Cleveland lets him go he should be able to be had for very cheap, he could do well in this offense if he could stay off of Bourbon St.
-Jeffery, could be good with us also, but Chicago ain't letting him leave
-Benjamin ain't going anywhere either
-Boldin, depending on how he plays the rest of the year could possibly still be a good pickup next year

bonethug also said colston isn't having issues getting separation
Posted on 9/22/15 at 10:04 am to BilJ
and that ben watson's 7 YPC last year was a fluke and that he'd catch 55 balls this year

fricking Brandon Marshall and was traded to jets for essentially nothing.
Posted on 9/22/15 at 10:51 am to tigerNation09
could we have taken on Marshall's contract?
Crabtree we should have at least brought in for a look to kick the tires on

I like Willie Snead. I don't like the fumble on Sunday, but this guy had potential to be a reliable receiver. He catches the ball with his hands and is a good runner after the catch.
Cooks is a good complimentary receiver and he is a fine #2, but it's too early in his career for him to be a go-to receiver. The Saints lake a true #1 talent at receiver.
If they want to win, they need to commit to an effective running game and focus on play action and possession receptions as well as featuring the backs out of the backfield to be successful until that talent arrives.
They also do need to occasionally throw deep...at least keep the defenses guessing.

One of multiple problems for Brees is that the Saints do not stretch the field at all, it seems. I am disappoint . . .

Any one commenting on WR play while watching the games on TV is ignorant. You can't see sh!t unless its a drop.
I would like to know (can't watch game film) what do all the posters who go to the games see.
Are the WR's covered up or is drew missing the open guy?

They're covered and can't get separation. And if they finally do get separation, Drew is running for his life and doesn't have time to find them.

Brees is running like a chicken with his head cutt off every play.
Payton sends every reciever on 8+ yard routes every play with 0 creativity and he gives no check downs. We are either in empty set, have a RB in to block, or throw a screen pass. This means that even when Brees successfully gets a 3 step drop and looks at his routes they're all still running. No one is underneath, no one is cutting short, no one is there to check down. And it forces him to do one of three things: 1) make a bad throw 2) scramble like an idiot 3) get hit hard.
The lack of commitment to the run game coupled with the absolutely obvious pass plays is brutal to watch in the stadium.
But the third quarter I was calling the plays correctly about 3or4/5 times. If some drunk fat idiot in the terrace can figure out what your doing, you can be damn sure the guys paid millions of dollars a year to play against you know exactly what you're doing.
The play calling is fricking retarded. Bottom line. It's unimaginative, it's pathetic, it's systematic and predictable, and worst of all it puts the QB in danger and it gives the receivers and Running backs no hope.
The sad thing is our recievers actually get open occasionally, but Brees is usually either play actioning for no reason or running for his life. shite is painful to see.
It's almost impossible to evaluate talent on this team since they are given 0 opportunity to show what they can do.
I said it last season and I'll say it again, Payton has completely lost whatever magic he had. It's time for a new offensive coordinator.
Looking at the drafts, time management, and overall discipline of the team in the field Payton's entire coaching abilities should be seriously discussed in the front office.

Off the top of your head, who's worse?
San Francisco?
Carolina without Benjamin?
It's not that absurd of a statement...

I watched Coleman more than the other WR's on Sunday and he seemed to be open quite often. His routes and fakes on his moves were better than I'd imagined.

Well, considering the fact that Carolina's leading receiver without Benjamin is Ted fricking Ginn Jr., I'd argue they are worse than the Saints.
I wouldn't say SF has a bad receiving corps. They have Vernon Davis, Torrey Smith, Anquan Boldin, and Garrett Celek. Better than what the Saints have so far imo.

Agree 100 percent. He needs to let Carmichael take over. A HC calling plays just doesn't work anymore. Hell even McCarthy in GB gave it up. I also think our WRs do need to improve, but thats only half the equation.
Our defense gave us plenty of opportunities to win the game and our offense shite the bed. Something has to change.

I wouldn't hate this, and nothing against Carmichael, but I'd want to bring in fresh blood. Our coaching staff is stagnant. Time to shake things up. We have a lot of young guys and new talent. Give them new coaches and see what happens.

Thanks for the responses guys. About what I thought.
