Could you work for a company or organization others think badly of?

Not naming names but when I see some people working for companies with a bad name I wonder how they do it. If your company has created a deadly product, had a major oil spill, or been in the media for bad acts could you still work for them? Don't get me wrong I know you have to support your family, but would you prefer a less contraversal job, or does that not matter to you? Media and public hate many large companies.

As long as they keep paying me, sure.

Just in general I don't know how I would feel to tell people I work for a company that is hated.

I knew a "nurse" at the abortion clinic in BR.
She hated her job, and apparently made her hate her own life. She killed herself around 2003

GM has been ordered to pay 900 million and may face criminal charges for knowingly not contacting consumers about a faulty ignition.
Do you see my point? Every major company has dirty laundry.

I'm guessing you mean people who work for someone like comcast or cox. Everyone's gotta make a living, can't hate them just the company

If I think the company deserves the bad name I just won't do it, I have better things to do.
If I think the general public is being stupid and the company is actually doing good I have zero problem with it.

Dang man....
To the OP, comparing BP to like say, Riverside Towing, is apples vs oranges.
In other words, accidents happen. Long term suck is by design.

I judge people who work for Primerica and other pyramid schemes. I hate that I judge them though.

I think that's how I would feel. So far the company I work for has nOt had any major issues. With what we do(dangerous work)....it's coming.

Work for one. Doesn't bother me.
Especially when some hipster judges me while wearing a product that is available only because of my (companies) existence.

Main reason BP keeps fricking up, they fail to learn.
