Not complaining, just curious. It seems like practically all the younger ones are women.

I'm sure the sample set you used to compile your statistics is gigantic.

They're nurturers. Animals smell it.

Its less manly.

Seems like it would be a hobby for a real doctor.

Isn't vet school extremely competitive to get into? There aren't many in the country.

This picture is from the LSU Vet School home page. Well over half the class is female. Perhaps as many as 2/3.

It's hard to get into and women are typically smarter than men (book smart only).

It's like asking why chicks graduate with better GPAs than guys do...probably a shite ton of reasons.

Here's a better question. When did this website turn into a bunch of smart asses trying to come off as intellectuals by using big words?

LSU Vet School was predominantly female when I was there. Luckily I only had to take a few classes with vet students because them bitches be annoying.

Maybe for the local vet down at the strip mall who takes care of cats and the family dog. On the other hand, I've got a good friend that's a large animal vet. For years he took care of the cattle and horses of a lot of the farmers around here. But now he spends most of his time out on the road going around the country to all these big hunting clubs doing artificial insemination of their trophy deer. Dude is making serious money.

when people started paying thousands of dollars on house pet care, before that vets were mostly for farm animals and research

Was historically a male dominated profession. They tried to change it but went way overboard.

The last year I applied to lsu vet school, there were 88 people accepted and 9 were male.
