Ahhh the tRant! Where anyone can be a english professor. Dude this is a message board. SHM.

You don't want to open your eyes/ears. You continue to be bias toward corps styles bands, but you know what it's okay. I have the best of both worlds and I appreciate and enjoy them. You cant seem to do that. The Human Jukebox has preformed at multiple super bowls, parades, BOTB's and other schools and organizations invite them to do so, because of how good they are. You don't get nominated for a grammy or be ranked #1 college band in the nation by USA Today , #2 by the NCAA because you sound like crap. Those are things the GBFTL will never do. ..........but I'm the idiot.

i wont dispute that its bad "musicianship" because im not a musician, but id say it wasnt bad because it wasnt foreign to my ears. Had I not known it I probably wouldve said its not really all that great. Thats all im really saying.

Wouldn't really matter. Listening to Stairway to Heaven, Fetty Wap or a Mozart piece with the bass and mids missing would be terrible to your ears. That's what all of SU's songs sound like. They have a million horns and they all blow as hard as they can. It's fun, yes, but it's not really great music.

not vouching for the band being better I was just justifying why it might seem good to some. Not here to argue.

TGBFTL band is actually bigger than The Human Jukebox.

I just posted three songs that sounds better than anything TGBFTL has ever played. I expect you all to be bias.

It has nothing to do with race. In terms of sheer quality of sound, they aren't as good as bands like LSU, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan, etc.

Spot on! Anyone who has played in a marching band knows this. Their quality of sound is about like a good high school band. Of course it's not PC to say the truth!

This thread is about the LSU band.

This is an LSU board.

Nobody here gives a crap about the SU band.

You're not biased? You're the one on an LSU message board shitting on the band. What do you want to hear at this point? SU band is the greatest and LSU should just get rid of their music program? Those SU clips you linked don't sound like shite? SU is more well known for their dancing while playing than their actual playing? White people stole Neck from SU? Which is it?

We've done this thread a bunch of times on this board. That cat was a douche bag from his 1st post and then got his feelings hurt.

He's outnumbered........ On an LSU board........... You don't fricking say.

I actually played at a different school, later transferred and graduated from LSU. So I am fans of both. Never said LSU was bad.

No

TO YOU, they are. But to anyone who knows better and actually listens they're not. (hence the grammy nomination)

Uum, LSU has black people in their band. I don't care about that. Bands having been stealing from one another from the being of time. but you can choose to be ignorant and believe LSU just pulled it from their arse one day. Or you can look at the history of the National acclaimed band 15 miles north of them and do the fricking math

Yes, it's a message board and you are making an argument. However, when someone argues with me showing their ignorance and lack of education, they lose all credibility when they can't even use basic grammar. Sorry, but that's the way it is and that's the way the world works. (Try to get a good job with those writing skills)

Classic retort when someone disagrees with you.

Bullsh** Of course we all have a bias. However, I do happen to like all types of music and I appreciate talent when I see/hear it. I also can appreciate their time and devotion to what they do because I know what it takes. Hats off to them for that. I gave them props. You just didn't pay attention.

Yes, you're the idiot (PRE-formed? Really??) because you have no idea the number of awards, parades, countries, titles, or any other recognition that TGBFTL has gotten yet you claim to say that they will never do those things.

*In the fall of 1997, the band directors of the Southeastern Conference unanimously voted the LSU Tiger Marching Band the best marching band in the SEC
*The band was awarded the Sudler Trophy in 2002, a one-time award conferred upon the nation's best college marching bands.
*On Saturday, October 11, 2008, ESPN announced that the Tiger Band won first place in a competition amongst university bands from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and USC. Each band played a version of John Williams's Indiana Jones theme, and ESPN posted the videos online for fans to vote.
*In 2012, the LSU Tiger Band was named as one of the "Top Ten College Marching Bands in the United States" by the Huffington Post.
*The Tiger Band performed internationally in 2014 when all 325 members traveled to Dublin, Ireland to perform in the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

There are more, but I'll let the above suffice.

As for Grammy nominations..., yes I've heard some seriously untalented people nominated for Grammy's (Kanye??) and I've never heard of SU getting a nomination anyway.

As for USA Today ranking them #1. Really?? Here are USA Today's Top Ten College Bands and SU didn't even make it to the honorable mentions. (Neither did TGBFTL but I didn't make that claim.)

Good day sir..., I'm out.

I know plenty of people with good jobs who don't care about putting there and they're correctly. Try again with that one especially on a message board, come on.

My former assistant was a SU band alum and got me into an indoor/outdoor practice session and I can attest that the SU band members are excellent musicians. BR is blessed to have two top-notch marching bands.

I promise you that in a job that requires communicating in writing with a boss, customer, or colleague, SOMEONE cares about their grammar. if it's not them, then they might be looking for other employment soon. And I said "try to GET a good job..." Meaning, try turning in a resume written like that and see what happens. It will be thrown away promptly.
Furthermore, I was making the case that when someone does that with me, they lose all credibility. I don't care if it's a message board or not. With me..., that kind of stuff lets me know I'm dealing with a moron.

Besides..., arguing on the internet is like being in the Special Olympics. Even if you win..., you're still retarded.

(I know I'm gonna catch hell for that one.)
