Besides United 93, is 9/11 basically untouchable?

Part of me would really like a well done movie, but I also realize its still pretty damn sensitive and any director taking it on would have to have huge balls.

What are the boards thoughts? Still too soon and give it time or never?

shite.

How awful was that movie? Honestly had no idea.

I would like something with more of the lead up etc and the guys training etc.

I guess everyone knows the story at this point, they may need to wait 25 years or so.

Don't forget that Robert Pattinson film that shamelessly uses 9/11 as the surprise twist at the end to try to pull on your heart strings. (Remember me I think was the name)

They've done it before, the most tasteless being "Remember Me", which I think may be the biggest open "frick you" to the audience I've ever seen. The movie is a stupid love story and then without hardly any foreshadowing, they end it with the main character dying in the attacks.

It was really as if the director was saying, "Do you like or hate these characters? Well regardless, frick you, here's 9/11 coming out of nowhere so you can care about something in this movie, and I don't give a shite if you had a loved one killed in it and don't remotely foreshadow it or tell you about it in the advertising." It's good to have contempt for your audience.

Im like the only one in the world who disagrees with this stance. haha.

I like that it came out of nowhere. I like that it was a complete non sequitur. Those attacks came out of nowhere and had nothing to do with the people in those buildings. To me, it recreated the feelings of that day better than a movie about 9/11 where you knew it was coming. But thats just me.

Have not seen the movie so it could be a massive steaming pile of poo.

Having said that, I kind of like the idea of doing movie about 9/11 like that. It blindsides you just like the attacks blindsided us.

Regardless, it was very tasteless in my opinion. The director inserted it for shock value. Nothing more.

It was a shite movie to begin with anyway.

The anniversary of 9/11 has really brought out the idiots today.

Saw a post from middle eastern girl saying how she was tired of white people complaining about 9/11 and how it didn't effect them at all, while giving a couple of examples of her being harassed by the TSA.

Sorry, that just pissed me off
