Damn that's awesome! Great moose. I'll do that before I die. Have a safe flight back.
Posted on 9/16/15 at 10:35 pm to Tigerpaw123
Eh, I would have to fly 600 miles to make that happen...

Maybe next time , on the big bird headed south, beautiful state you live in, I have some great stories and met some great people, but can't wait to get back home

What a great animal! I lurk a lot on this board and can't wait to hear the stories of the trip.
That's a bucket list hunt.

A few pics, this is all the gear packed and ready to head to the airport
Headed out on the super cub, our second bush flight
My buddy glassing
Me with my first salmon, no good to eat at this point as they were spawned out
The guides going over strategy
A coozie, a foot and a bear track, enough said
Night of the kill
The next day
I killed him at 9:00 pm, the only time I have ever legally hunted at 9:00 pm, and the work began, I shot him on the other side of the river, about 125 yards, he fell right there, being on the other side of the river was a challenge as we had to use the boat to cross , then when we were finished skinning and quartering him (2:00 am) we had to walk the boat back up river past the camp so that we could cross it and land at the camp

Packing him out, the antlers weighed about 100 pounds
Crossing the river
Packed up and headed to a new campsite
Just a small stream
Our meat pole
Prepping and fleshing the cape, turning the ears and lips, splitting the nose and dewlap, took hours and hours
Proof that wild bears do shite in the woods

That is awesome. What are you going to do with the antlers and hide?

If I ever went up there, I would be worried about saying "F it, I am not going back."

Just got the official score after the 60 day drying period, Bullwinkle went 214 4/8 (after deductions), which missed the all time book (needed to be 224) but makes the 3 year Awards book (210 min). I have said from the beginning that anything killed on my trip would be a trophy to me, but actually making the book is beyond my wildest dreams
