Both times it has come up in my life, the ticketed passenger is the one who's account gets credited or has a voucher issued. (The other time was when I booked a flight on the company AMEX and couldn't make it). You get one year to use the voucher and it usually comes with some astronomical change fee ($200 or so). Under certain circumstances, and depending on which specific manager you speak to and whether or not they're having a good day, you can get that change fee waived and retain full value of the ticket.

On a related note: They can do miracles at the ticket counter at the airport. If you need to make a last minute flight change, do it at the airport and not on the phone if possible. At times like this, the BR airport and it's notoriously short lines are convenient.

Yeah I remember how bad it was in the False River area. I stayed with family in New Roads. That was the most wind that I remember seeing since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, which was pretty serious in that part of the state. They lost a roof but ended up getting it replaced quickly.

They wanted to check on an office building they owned in the middle of the storm and I stupidly agreed to drive them there during the eye, which didn't last long. Ran over trees, debris, and got a power line snagged on the on-star antenna. The storm picked back up before we returned.

First week of college. What a great way to kickstart that experience!

That was my senior year at LSU. Will never forget having tiger band practice at like 5 AM after having been out all night watching the Chee Weez at the Varsity. I vividly recall Linda Moorhouse walking by me and asking what time I decided to cut off the vodka since she could smell it through my pores..

Made for a MISERABLE game at 10 AM. They were letting the band members go in groups to sit in the tunnel to cool off and hydrate. I've never been so hot in Tiger Stadium. I remember standing on the field during the SSB and alma mater just focusing on not passing out.

Then contra flow! Then power out at my house in Nicholson lakes for 3.5 weeks. I was a nomad that month. Seems like just yesterday.

Worked from 6am till 6pm that day. Was a big fight trying to keep power going out that day.

Once getting off, I had my chainsaw in my jeep and had to cut my way home.
