I guess it's really not a race either. But if you fill out a form that requests "race", you will hear the term hispanic thrown around. Not as a choice since like you said, it's really not a race (I shouldn't have spoken so frankly). It's more a term of origin for several races. It's more to the point of someone's biological background compared to Mexican, which just denotes the country try they are from.

Mexicans live right beside me, so I'm never far, but I'll be sure to ask them if "Mexican" offends them. Lol, once again, I don't care.

Like I said in the OP, I originally thought she said don't say the N word, which I do from time to time. I didn't that time. She just had a bug up her old arse for some reason.
The Mexican guys showed up and started working at 7 this morning. They'll probably work until 6 or 7 tonight. The other two guys aren't even here yet. That's why you don't need to call them all "construction workers". Differentiating work ethic helps when describing what's going on

You sounded like a hick saying what you did as presented.
You went out of your way to paint a racial/national picture of the people digging up your construction site when I doubt it was pertinent or relevant at all.
Nothing technically wrong on the surface but it tells everyone you see their ethnicity as the first/foremost detail, which is considered disrespectful.

So if I was commenting how fast/hard they worked, it was offensive? It was more of a compliment than anything, and yes, it affects how fast the job gets done. That makes it pertinent.
