Watching this game and some kid just had a pretty bad injury. Looks like his ankle completely broke. Hope he heals up quickly

Highschool football is terrible.
ETA The referee in this game is the epitome of "get off my lawn"

He looks like Barney Fyffe out there. He is taking nothing off of no one. I enjoyed HS football last weekend with a entire day of FB at the Ga dome. Now this game has way too many fouls

Lot of talent on both sides. Dematha seems to have the edge thus far. They look every bit as talented as Miami Central which you don't see very often.

High school football is terrible? You must not have any good programs near you.

These are supposed to be "good programs" and they can't move the ball at all. Consistently get fouls after every play. Such a joy to watch.

please tell me these teams are better than Easton, 35, Landry Walker, etc...
bc if not why is there even a thread?

Miami Central >>>>> every team in the state of Louisiana.

They look pretty fricking terrible. Have the have 150 yards in penalties in the 1st half.

Miami Central is having a bad day, but didn't they beat Hoover AL last week?
Also....this referee....why does he feel the need to scream?

Miami Central OL can't block DeMatha. Also, DeMatha's QB is pretty damn good.

I understand Miami Central is supposed to be the #2 team in the country, but they look awful so far, comparatively speaking.

they are definitely over matched. One cant blame the conditions not that they are complaining.

Nah, Hoover beat some team from Tennessee (Oakland?) last week and last night they beat Manatee high school from Florida. I think they won both games by a few scores.

And Miami Central won 3 or 4 consecutive state championships?
Week 1 with High School kids playing a quality opponent & I'm sure there is some rust.
NFL & College programs lay eggs early on especially.

Got it. I must be thinking ab last year.
That was a cool block and return.

Rust is fine, but how does the #2 team in the country lose 38-0?
I'm not naive enough to believe that high school polls are infallible, but it's hard to be this wrong...

maybe we're pushing the wrong teams based on talent... you can have 10 D1 kids (or 60 if you're IMG) but still lose to teams with none if they're better "teams"

STA is probably the best team in Florida this year. I don't know what's up with Central.
