10 team league. I have the first pick. Guys wants to trade with me.
He gets my first round and fourth round.

I get his 2nd round and third round.
Fair deal?

Guy is the 2nd spot offered me the same trade in reverse. He has the 2nd overall pick meaning I would have the top two picks in the draft.

So you get no first round and he gets two... you get no fourth round, and he gets two...

bad idea is bad.

Try it without throwing in your third. So he'd get your first for his 1st and 4th.

In a complete redraft, trading of picks (other than swapping 1st and 2nd round picks and maybe getting/giving $20) should illegal.

I think 4 top 24 picks is awesome, I'd make the trade, (4 good players >>> 2 good players)

I'd offer him your 1st(1) and 4th(40) for his 1st(4) and 2nd(17). You keep your 2nd(20) and 3rd(21).

So you give up 1 and 40 and get back 4 and 17.

You would have the following picks:
4, 17, 20, 21, 41

He would have:
1, 24, 37, 40, 44

That's the deal that works for you and the price of getting the #1 OA pick.
