Hey guys was wondering if staying at the Belle of Baton Rouge was a good idea? We usually stay at the Drury, because the family that owns it are from my home town in Missouri and sends their kids to our high school that I coach at. So, wanting to try something different and was curious about this one because the reviews are pretty mixed. Also, I am curious with traffic if this hotel would be better than the Drury. Thanks.

Belle is terrible. I stayed there two years ago cuz it was the only hotel available in BR. Crazy I know.

Worst decision of my life. Would've been better off sleeping under the overpass

Don't go to the Belle.

There are a few hotels in downtown BR that are much nicer. The Hilton and Indigo are much nicer (but obviously more expensive). Then you have a new Hampton Inn (just over a year old) and Holiday Inn Express (two months old) if you're looking for cheaper options.

Stayed at the Belle about a year ago and found a half smoked cigar on the floor and an open knife on top the entertainment center.

It's an absolute shithole. Staph and bedbugs are complimentary with every stay

Extended Stay America on Corporate. Cheap and my room was very clean.

Downtown is great for game day. Belle has fine rooms but other downtown hotels are a bit better.

My wife booked a room there for us for a wedding.

She almost cried when she saw the room.

Don't do it

Any hotel, in Downtown, is better than there.

It is definitely on the lower end of downtown hotels, but if I need a room and everywhere else is booked I have no problem with staying there.

I stayed there about 2 months ago while my son had LSU orientation. It is in downtown so I wouldn't recommend walking outside of hotel property late at night. With that said, the hotel itself was fine. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was good. I wouldn't have any problem staying again.

I've stayed at the Hilton on Lafayette street and it's very nice. You have to valet part though so if you don't want to do that stay at the Hampton, also on Lafayette

The Indigo is across the street from the Hilton as well, it's my favorite down there. Pricey though

Staring Motel is a much better bargain than the Belle. Stay there, but make reservations now.
