My parents recently had a house fire and all of my clothes were inside of their house. I've been looking for ways to remove the smell. Any one have any home remedies? Will borax work?

Did they have a restoration company come in for the insurance? if its going to come out, you are not going to be able to do it yourself, if its bad

I heard washing them with a bit of vinegar works, but I'm not sure if it'll actually work.

Claim them as loss on insurance. You're not going to get that smell out easily.

Wife doesn't want you smoking?
Man up and tell her to shove it

Believe it or not letting them simply "air out" could do the trick.

Vinegar worked with some stuff we washed that had cigarette smoke in it, but smoke from a fire may be more intense.
I suggest vinegar, then just leaving them outside where they can air out- it may take a couple of washes.

Hate to hear about your parents house. When my apt caught fire I just took it on insurance. It was to much hassel to keep everything that just stunk

Dey cleaner that sanitizes.
Or if you have access to a industrial washer it will work.

Was it claimed on insurance? If it was, you want to call someone like CRDN to handle the textiles...
