The bike is pinned between the right wheel and the ditch...

By some miracle, the guy survived.

Well that is good to hear. Did he get thrown from the bike and avoid being crushed by the 18wheeler?

I think that's what happened. From the looks of the video I don't see how he escaped being crushed.

I see them up here in Alabama all the time. It's scary to think of a drunk behind the wheel of a 60,000 lb. truck though.

That guy is very blessed he lived through that. It just was not his time to go.

Darth - it wasn't that long ago (10 to 15 years) when I considered truckers the cream of the driving crop - sharing the road with them on many long drives gave me confidence - they were generally courteous, professional, etc. Lately, I suspect about 1/3 of them (or more) are impaired/distracted - either driving with too little sleep, using phone/tablet or watching movies, "crashing" (pardon the pun) from energy drink/caffeine overuse, or otherwise impaired with drugs and alcohol - I mean, driving is a serious enough business in a sedan - the level of difficulty is way higher in a loaded 18-wheeler. The margin of error is smaller and the consequences can be catastrophic - a large truck can take out several other vehicles quite easily.
