People have been saying all summer the Cubs will fade. Well those people are starting to run out of time. The Cubs are surging right now. I could see them hosting the Wild Card game at Wrigley.

Bring out the Pope. Tell him the dugout needs blessing in October.

Who has been saying that. They've fluctuated between high 40s and low 60s percent chance to make the playoffs by pecota amd fan graphs.

They have pitching, and will be in it right down to the end.

The number of young bats make me nervous down the stretch, but I think we'll make it

Cubs have a half game lead for the wc2. Would not winning it really be choking? C'mon.

Is plausible that they have a three game wild card 2 lead with four to go and choke it.

I think they make it though.

I suppose. Guess it's just a difference in perception.

For the record I doubt they make it. 2016 I was when the window was supposed to open. This year is just gravy.

I'd take the Cubs over the Pirates if choosing between them.

Pirates had a terrible deadline and their pitching now without Burnett is much worse.

A year ahead of schedule. Playing with house money at this point. Will be disappointed if they aren't at least in the hunt through the end, but the season is already a success in my eyes.

If Lester pitches the WC game they'll lose.

You know how I know you have no idea what you're talking about? He led the league in strikeouts in July. He's 2-0 in his last 3 starts with 4 ER and 27 Ks. His last start (not counting rain out in Pittsburgh) he went 8 innings and struck out 14. He is on fire right now and has only been getting better as the year goes on. He can suck every April and May as long as he's good when it counts. All signs point to that trend continuing.

Spot on. I remember Lester being pretty strong in big situations for Boston

Who said he wasn't? So if anyone but jake pitches we lose right.

We do fandom differently. What's it like rooting against players on your own team just so your false narrative can be right.
