Does that offer list look 2 or 3* to you? Come on man, don't be intellectually dishonest.

right
We still have Harris and Jennings for at least 2 more years, then we will have Franks
Why not recruit another QB to come in and compete since AJ has been proven ineffective and Harris can't supplant him? That way we're not force to play Franks when he's young.

not miserable, just calling it like I see it. The rest of the SEC sees it too. LSU fans right now are the ostrich with it's head in the sand.
yeah...i guess that's why we're top 15 in every preseason poll that's come out and even top 10 in many
but you're right...i'm sure all those people in Vegas just have their head in the sand

He's not a very physically gifted guy. AJ is a terrible quarterback and has no business starting for an upper tier SEC school.
THis. His running instincts are below average and not really teachable. He's decently fast, but not really much more than average. Can't teach that.
His arm strength is pretty weak for a D1 prospect. Not sure how the staff missed that in evaluating him. Can't teach that.
The only thing he can improve on is reading the defenses and his accuracy, which are his two most glaring weaknesses at this point in his career. People act like fans are ridiculous for not expecting much improvement.

Unless you buy into the conspiracy theories about not playing our best QB, by this time you have to entertain the prospect that Harris has been overrated.
we've seen Jennings and it ain't pretty...

I really think some of you need to go back and listen to the interview. The guys asked him with the suspension of Jennings if Harriss has the leg up coming out of summer camp. Cam told them that they answered their question, then laughed and told them they were good at what they did. Some of you just hear what you want to hear

Harris will be 'the guy' this year. Put down the revolver everyone...

I'm not the one choosing to pick the only service that rated him as a 2* as my source of rating

Harris can't supplant him?
We don't know if Harris can't supplant him yet.
And if y'all don't think that Harris is getting a fair shot, do you think a true freshman will come in a get a fair shot against AJ? Come on...be consistent.

If everything works out Franks won't have to play until his 2nd or 3rd year

You don't understand how ratings work do you? He's a 2 star by EVERY service except 247 all season long, but as soon as LSU offers he's bumped to a 3. Seems legit.

it'd be really nice to RS franks and not let him play until his 3rd season. Another highly ranked QB would've at least added depth and increased competition. It can only be a good thing.

could that have been a mistake and he was actually referring to Harris?
I was certain that he was just making a general statement there about QB development.

i guarantee 99% of the people in this thread didn't even listen to the interview.

why didn't we bring in any major recruit in the 2015 class at QB?

Why not bring in another QB in 2015 class? Now, we are VERY thin at QB. It makes absolutely no sense.
Anthony Jennings
Brandon Harris
Justin McMillan
Danny Etling
Feleipe Franks
Thin?

Point went right over your head.

WE have no depth at LB or DL for some reason.

We have the returning worst SEC QB.
quote:Yeah, I have no idea where LSU will get any good CBs or safeties.
IN order for AJ to make it to a title game, we need to magically find a Tyrann MAthieu, 2 1st rd CBs.
quote:Please describe in detail exactly how a Steele defense looks with LSU talent and Orgeron coaching?
Oh, and a Kevin Steele Defense suddenly needs to not look like a Kevin Steele defense.

The A&M game was probably about AJ's ceiling and that performance was 12/21 107 yds 1 TD 1 INT
On his best days, he's an average game manager.

I know how a composite rankings work...
and the same thing happened for Mo Claiborne as well, just FTR

No argument there. But highly ranked QBs don't just fall off trees and they also look at depth closely. A highly ranked QB might look at LSU and see that Harris and AJ were freshmen and sophmores, respectively, and thought they might not get a chance to play for a long time
not to mention if LSU took a highly ranked QB last year, Franks might not be committed right now

need to add his running stats as well, if we are being fair

In 2011 JJ:

In 2010:
56%...6.8yds/a...7tds...10 ints...RAT...115
You might want to see bout having your eyes checked.

Jennings was the worst QB in the conference last year.
You don't think Miles and Cameron know that?
Not sure they do. And if they do know that, does it really matter if they continue to play Jennings while failing to develop him and an offense suitable for him?

I'll take a QB that throws for 1400 and rushes for 1500 for the season any time.
