Beginning of End or New Lease On Life

Miles is coming off of an 8-5 season. During the offseason, LSU has lost the Chief...and replaced him with Steele (arguably a downgrade). It has added Coach O, unquestionably an upgrade.
LSU has lost Bain, Valentine and LMFAO. Three players expected to contribute at the thinnest position on the roster, excluding QB.
LSU has arguably the most dynamic player in the conference in LF7. It has a budding All American in Jamal Adams. LSU has maybe the best receiving corp in the SEC.
LSU has potential at QB in Harris, but not enough separation to name him starter...even though Jennings has been arrested and suspended.
The SECw is the toughest it has ever been, perhaps.
LSU and Miles are unquestionably at a cross roads. Go 8-5 again, or worse, and claims of being elite are done.
Go 10-2 and win a major bowl...things could be headed towards elite status headed into 2016.
What is the more likely outcome and why?

Heisman candidate RB, #1 recruiting class coming in. Future = bright.

All good Doc, enjoy the season

Double digit wins, we will be ok. Still tons of talent, above average QB play and we are in the thick of things.

He said potential dumazz. There is potential with BH. That doesn't mean it will come to fruition but it's there. Learn the definition next time.

Yes we do.

Or the realization that the last three years have been the middle of the end that began in January 2012.

We've got a tough schedule in the most difficult division of football. 9 wins and no hideous blowouts (see Auburn 2014) is a successful season imo.

We're going to the ship with the 2014 class at some point.

I'm cautiously optimistic. But we have a tough schedule, and some of our problems are systemic.

I don't believe he has potential. I don't believe he is capable of learning the playbook

I tend to agree that some issues are systemic. Moreover, I don't recall, excluding Mack Brown's Vince Young run, a high profile coach, at a high profile university righting the ship once it it started taking on water.
I am old enough to remember the end of the Charlie Mac years. This has a similar feel, I must admit. Talented players, flawed coaching, etc.
That said, I still think Miles has some magic left. Plus, our true sophomores are stupidly talented.

Well if you don't think BH has any then what do you think AJ has?

Nothing.

Why can't people just be excited because a new season is here? I guess some just look for BS to worry about.

based on what ? Dude's 19 freakin years old, has a Class A cannon of an arm, and level head. Maybe his work ethic / hunger for the game has taken some time to develop (not sure I agree with those allegations), but the fact that you deny his potential is laughable.
