I say good idea. Since we have a playoff teams should be not rewarded in anyway for playing teams with fewer scholarship.

I totally agree. There are plenty of lower tier power 5 teams to schedule in November

This is one of those things that sounds good that does nothing to solve the actual problem with OOC scheduling. Frankly, I could not care less whether your rent-a-win is an FCS team or from the Sun Belt or MAC. In fact, most top tier FCS schools are BETTER than lower tier MAC schools. But let's even, for the sake of argument, say that MAC schools are better... so what?

Wow, I'm so impressed your rent-a-win is marginally tougher than another conference's rent-a-win.

No, the problem with OOC scheduling is that Power 5 teams don't play each other. High quality cross-regional games not played at a neutral site are on life support. How about instead of grand standing over the fact you're gonna play Kent St more often, big Ten teams get on the phone and schedule more games against the SEC and Pac-12?

And this goes for every conference. OOC schedules are an embarrassment right now. Play more good teams.

Isn't one of the problems that it is too expensive for a big school to give up a home game (to either do neutral site or home and home)? Maybe neutral site games work financially, but then you piss off the fans.

Well teams want to win and compete for a national title. For the SEC, the conference is tough enough. They don't want to drop a game to another p5 team late and ruin a title shot. This is why I kind of like the expansion of the playoff. That way teams won't worry so much about losses as long as they aren't a truly bad loss.

Some states require their bigger schools to play FCS schools annually.

Should do it before Illinois State beats Iowa.

this is tired excuse. first of all, no where is it written that it has to be late. but Florida and FSU always play the last regular season game and they combined to play in 6 BCS title games, so......

won't make any difference because the same argument can apply, worse expanding the playoff would likely benefit teams that are in conferences with CCG but don't have to play in it.

Then maybe they should stop having teams.

Expanding the playoff to power 5 winners and 3 at large let's bigger out of conference games go down without worrying with losses. Win your conference , get in. Teams that played that prime time out of conference game will be happy their team got practice against a big time opponent earlier in the year.

But then that would render all OOC games meaningless. Does that really help the game?

I guess If you don't win the conference it would impact ranking and getting your at large bid

Not sure how to fix everything. But I would like to see more big games. Not trying to be a dick but Ohio State plays shite for out of conference. I feel like LSU makes an effort to get one big or bigger out of conference game a year. Would be good for the fans and sport in my opinion if more teams fought it out

Would be great I think for LSU played a top ten team every year but with the current system it isn't worth the risk really.
