The smart thing to do would be to temper expectations—you don’t want him to be another cautionary tale," said RailHawks and former MLS midfielder Austin da Luz. "But he’s as talented a 17-year-old as I’ve ever seen.”
“I consider Nick to be in the same breath as Christian Pulisic,” noted a longtime reporter covering American youth and college soccer
Welp
quote:
“He’s been exceptional, not just for his age, but in general,” da Luz said. “It’s fun and refreshing to see a kid that age, with that kind of talent, as humble as he is, That’s what I’ve been most impressed with, his personality. He’s here to learn, and you can see that every day he’s just soaking everything up, asking questions and listening. That’s kind of the coolest part about it.”
“This kid is grounded more than any other 17-year-old kid,” Amsler added. “His head’s not big, and he knows he hasn’t done anything yet. That’s the way he considers it, and we’ve done a good job keeping it that way. That’s why I think he’ll go a long way, because he doesn’t think in any way, shape or form that he’s done anything yet.”
This is so, so important. Good to see.

I have been told Villafana is on the "close radar" of Klinsmann and his staff for after Copa America. #USMNT

quote:I'll be honest, when I first copied the tweet, I thought it said Queens Park Rangers. However, Swope Park Rangers is SKC's USL team. Jaylin Lindsey seems to be a decent prospect as a defender and has played numerous games for our U15/17 teams. He's currently 16. Would be nice if he could start getting some playing time for SPR.

Hyndman was subbed on in the 58'. Most likely playing in his last game for Fulham.

Pulisic subbed on in the 65' for Dortmund.

Swope Park is a huge park, much of it forested, in Kansas City, MO. There is a fantastic soccer village within the park that is the training ground of SKC. It is headquarters of the SKC academy, FC Kansas City (women), and Swope Park Rangers (as previously stated the USL side of SKC). Various college, state, and youth teams also participate in events at the Park.
There are nine fields and the village is a brilliant partnership between the city of Kansas City and SKC.
Sorry for the little hijack.

Jaylin Lindsey
He actually just became the first US player born in 2000 to make his pro debut.
So tuck that into your trivia bank.
I hope this makes everyone else feel old.

One of the best moments in Saturday’s Barclays Premier League play came courtesy of a Sounders academy graduate and USMNT favorite: DeAndre Yedlin. The former Seattle defender served up a stunner of an assist for Sunderland, with whom he currently plays on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, in an impressive comeback 3-2 win over Chelsea.

Yedlin’s game-winning assist may have saved Sunderland from relegation.

I really doubt it. I would love to see him stay with Sunderland.

He's impressed me when I've seen him play. Just short clips and stuff. But he's already gotten a full team call up and played a few minutes here and there.
