My wife and I make about $100K per year. We give about $6K to charities. I occasionally do some volunteer work through my church.

Yes, both money and time. It's not all about me.

Yes. No need for specifics.

Money yes. Not so much time.
Working on it though. Did some volunteering a few weeks ago, will try and make a habit of it.

Not as much as I would like. There are so many people in this world who are miserable and don't know why. If they only got off their arse and started helping people, it could change their life.

I don't have enough time or money to donate it

Bragging about making $100k or bragging about donating?

I don't trust any charities with my money. My money is too important to my family. My time however, I can donate that. I don't donate to charities though, just to my kids school and church parish.

Read too quickly. I thought he said that he and the wife donated $100k every year. My bad, will edit.

That wasn't my intention. To be honest, I had not thought my income or charitable donations to be brag-worthy.

I donate a lot of time. In fact I have for years and last year was the first time I deducted any donations on taxes.
I donate machines to churches and animal centers. Pittbulls and Parolees and the Orleans animal shleter use machines I either donated or fixed.
I have also donated complete compressor assemblies to a church after theirs was stolen and a buddy of mine installed them. I give small amounts to various charities but only like $1500 a year in payouts. But I donate a lot of time and equipment. Through this site I donated a $7000 wheelchair (special made for severe handicap, was my deceased brother's) to a fireman's son, and that felt great. I don't do any of it for breaks in taxes or anything, I do it because I'm a bleeding heart.
