No issue with the posts in this thread, just saying some others have a much different opinion and I suppose coincidentally , it was primarily people from areas with a tradition of good food , which I wouldn't say Baton Rouge has much in comparison.
Wow, you're not helping matters any with that kind of statement. I officially declare you an irrelevant poster.
Pat's not only needs better food, but also a better spokesperson.

Like I said , reminds me more of home than any other restaurant I've eaten at in Baton Rouge.
Wherever home is must have some really shitty food.

I'm gonna walk into the restaurant on lunch and shout "tigerdroppings!".
The guy who immediately looks shifty is getting punched in the face.
I'm guessing you're a new manager.

Stuffed Mushroom appetizer at 18 dollars ?
Are they crazy ? That place is overpriced as hell. Between that and the bad reviews , I'll never go.

See my post from the last thread on this.

I went there last night, even after reading this thread, because my sister in law wanted to try it out.
I got the broiled catfish with asparagus. It was one catfish filet... maybe 6-8 oz and it looked to be seasoned with only Tony's or some other Cajun seasoning. The asparagus was, I shite you not, 3 pieces of asapragus... THREE. The catfish was $16.95 and they put a $3 UPCHARGE because I got asparagus instead of a stuffed potato. That means I paid $1 extra per piece of asparagus on top of whatever price they already worked into the meal for the potato. I'm not a cheap arse or anything but I was really disappointed. $19.95 for one catfish filet and 3 pieces of asparagus.

Yep. No lie, it was $18

I have a friend that went and the way he described the food and prices...I will never check it out for myself. I think a bowl of gumbo was something insane, like $18? He is the best cook I know and he knows his stuff, if he says the food is awful then it really is.

If you re from Acadiana you should be ashamed of yourself. You should be able to make better food at home. The mystique of Pats and the Huvals are long gone. I ate at pats in Henderson as much as any local probably did growing up and into the early 90s and the food was decent to good for those early years.... Had relatives that lived out there. Then everything started tasting the same when they built that damn town out there.
I'm from Acadiana and I 100% cook better than that poor excuse of cajun food. It's a tourist trap no different than Landrys.

I went for lunch the other day and they had a BBQ Shrimp wrap. Got that and was surprised to find, after biting in, that it was about 5-6 medium sized boiled shrimp, lettuce and freaking slathered in some kind of Kraft style BBQ sauce. Was I wrong for thinking it would be New Orleans-style BBQ shrimp? Maybe I should've asked first. Lesson learned, but I ain't going back.

That's just plain old not acceptable. It just isn't.

It sounds like you guys don't understand authentic Cajun cuisine.

Well, you have a point because I don't see "bbq shrimp" as Cajun. I think of New Orleans bbq style shrimp when I see that on a menu in Louisiana. However, I've never heard of shrimp slathered in bbq sauce as a part of Cajun cuisine. Is that common?

I didn't think so, but I didn't want to be rude to you!
