I get what you are saying and there are many inconsiderate people at the ramps, but the worst ones are the rageaholics that have aneurysms if you dont do exactly what they want you to do on the ramp, even if you are doing everything correctly and thoughtfully.

You don't like the way I launch then get out there earlier you lazy bastard.

And you being "Saltwater guy" probably carries binoculars in the boat and runs the outboard right on top of someone you see catching fish under the birds or pulls so close to someone at a rig that you could cast in their boat because you saw them catch one speck!
or maybe
you are the guy that has a 24' bay boat to go catch brim in the spillway because you heard they were biting?
See anyone can stereotype!

It has never taken me more than 2 minutes to be clear of the ramp in my bass boat, I prep in the staging area and already have most of the stuff in the boat from the night before. I don't get in line unless I am ready to be in the boat.

threads like this are so funny. how there isn't more boat launch shootings is beyond my disbelief.

This is one of the bigger reasons why I fish on weekdays instead of Saturdays or Sundays.
The only reason to go to a boat launch on a weekend is if you've got a lawn chair and a cooler full of beer. It's like a case study in the sociology of the fisherman.

If you want to see a shite show, come to Ford Park Cross Lake on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00. Last time I was there some dude backed his jet ski down and locked his keys in his truck, while taking up both sides of the launch.

Or because you work all week.
By the time I pull out of staging and back down the launch my boat is completely unhooked with rope attached to trailer or person in driver's seat. Boat hits the water and is gone. I have a little more patience for the older guys trying to do their thing. Hope I'm blessed enough to be out there at that age

Definitely understandable for older gentlemen.
It's the Salt-Life-Bro guys...
Ex: (really happened at Bob's Bayou Black Marina - (nothing against jacked up F250s or Gator Tails) Guy backs up a sky high F250 complete with BS stickers all over truck and Gator Tail rig, and can't get it to float off trailer. Pad eye on bow is stuck over roller and they cant figure out for the life of them how to get it off. Driver gets out and helps the rope guy try to pick up on boat while boat driver points and tells them what to do while leaning over bow and adding weight.... LaSportsman finest baw, I tell you what.
Thank god another launch opened up. They were still there after I was taking off in my boat.

Or the assholes who can't manage to fit more than 2 trucks on the ramp. That SOAB is wide enough for 3 for amatuers if not 4 that know what they are doing.
C'mon man

I'm tired of the dudes with the 25' bay boats who pull up to the ramp, then load ice chests, tackle boxes and a dozen rods into those cute rod holders
I own both and am fully aware of how to operate at a boat launch but let me tell you, whenever I've taken the bass boat down to Venice or the Bay Boat to Okhissa or Toledo Bend I was treated like a third class citizen on the water. It's ridiculous.

Not everyone. Went with my 19 yr old in his bass boat this past weekend. He had everything in his boat BEFORE leaving the house. Got to the launch, undid straps before approaching the ramp, backed it down and I pulled it over to the farthest spot on the dock well away from the ramp area. Parked his truck and off we went. No more than 5 minutes total time.
