How does one go about becoming a police officer?

Not trying to be funny, honestly want to know what becoming an officer of the law entails. Is there a certain degree you have to have or is it just High school diploma/GED. I know you have to get accepted into the academy and graduate from it. Cops of the OT, help me out. Thinking about a career change.

I was thinking the same thing!
He REALLY needs to pick a career and stick with it. He was recently saying how his oil field job was ready to promote him to management, and in previous threads he talked about how much cash he was making, so I have no clue why he wouldn't stick it out.
