Heard last nights show had a long rain delay. Not a fan of the venue for summer rock shows but it is what it is

Yeah, having seats killed this show.

My friend is out there and he said it's pretty dead by CS standards for rock show.

I'm kinda confused. Why are there seats for this?

I have no idea, but as a previous poster said, I think Billy Corgan probably requested seats. Manson dgaf.

I looked earlier online because I was curious for a single ticket and Ticketmaster wanted $78.50 + additional fees for section B all the way to the right. It was like row 20 too.

General admission was placed all the way towards the back too. Yeah, frick this gig.

Just got back from the show. I thought it was a pretty good show and I'm not a huge fan of either. My gf got VIP tickets for free so why not?

It wasn't empty at all, but I'd say the crowd was a bit subdued since it was a Monday night.

Smashing Pumpkins fricking killed it IMO. I've heard so much shite about how they suck live, and boy was that myth busted. Corgin was pretty damn awesome I'd say, and I was never a big SP fan

I thought Manson killed it. I had "seats" nobody sat and they were just in the way. Didn't mind the extra elbow room though. Pumpkins played a hell of a show but they are definitely not showmen. Great musicians though, I went and sat down for them.

Yeah Manson was good and he puts on a better "show", but I'm more interested in the musical aspect and I felt the SP sounded top notch. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Knew a guy who worked at the studio in Bogalusa that did some work with Marilyn Manson. He said it's all a shtick. He's just a normal guy who found a way to make money by putting on an act.

manson was an entertaining show - though the "i did so much in new orleans that i cant tell a single actual story" and "who likes drugs" gimmicks got old when told between EVERY SINGLE SONG. i didnt expect it to be a show i related to deeply, but it wouldve been cool if he shared a few actual stories, real or not.

the pumpkins doing a fleetwood mac cover and then breaking out the drum machine turned me off a little too.

otherwise, enjoyed both sets quite a bit.

I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would complain about the seating. I was sweating balls as is. If I was actually packed into a floor crowd instead of having some room to breath it would have been 5x worse.

Enjoyed last night's show immensely. Corgan seems to have mellowed out (physically too I mighf add) over the years. There were points last night he actually looked like he was having fun. Set list smashed it compared to voodoo.

Manson was a fun show too. What you see is what you get. I wouldn't pay again to see him, but it was a damn fun show and certainly a decent compliment to SP.

Good nostalgic night of solid 90s rock...

Everybody has known this for years. He is basically a wrestling character on stage.

As for the shows last night, I liked both acts. SP came out swinging out of the gate, but then kind of lost the audience a little with a few clunkers, but then finished strong. I thought they sounded fantastic.

"I've been accused of having a bad attitude over the years, which isn't really fair..."

(uh oh)

"Cause I have a really, really, bad fricking attitude."

Who woulda thunk that EVERY song of his was written in or about Nola. My gf and I were laughing about that.

He seemed pretty wasted too.

and im not saying i wanted a deep heartfelt moment - but any kind of anecdote beyond "i wrote this in new orleans" "i lived in new orleans" or "i wrote this about new orleans" wouldve added some depth to the schtick if he was going to do it a dozen times.

when he started with "i have so many stories im not going to tell any" right out of the gate.... oh well. still an entertaining set, just funny.

Manson was kind of annoying with his constant New Orleans and drugs talk, his set was ok though. SP started out great then tired real quick. I could have left after the first few Pumpkins songs and been happy. The crowd started to thin out about halfway through their set. Having seats absolutely killed the crowd energy for this show. Slipknot was wild, Manson's set at least, could have been like that.
