They have a losing record vs SDSU or it's tied.

They have a better program right now, no not really. The DakotaDome isn't helping much.

They have losing records against their three closest rivals in MVC UNI NDS SDSU

They are an after thought when it comes to MVC

So yes I stand by my statement, they are in a tough position. History from the 80's and 90's was 20 years ago. USD is like a Razorback and a SMS fan, what happened in 92-95 does not make up for the present.

Let me guess, you cruise the FCS football message boards and have fallen for the line that the DakotaDome is a crappy facility. A stereotype promoted by SDSU and NDSU fans. The DakotaDump. Am I right? I'm guessing you haven't even been there recently, if at all.

I believe the record against SDSU is tied or close to being tied, not sure.

NDSU has a winning record against everybody in the region. No surprise USD would have a losing record against a historic power. Yet USD does have the distinction of playing in a National Title game against the Bison, something the Jacks have never even sniffed at.

We have only recently begun to play UNI again after they transitioned to 1AA back in the 70's. Guess what though, we actually have beaten them recently too. Pisses them off to no end.

Yeah, USD is in rough shape right now and working to build the program, but your statement that SDSU has always been the better football program in the state is patently false.

I sure hope so. I also hope whoever the now-sophomore backup from just up the valley from here is a little more polished this year. When Pru got hurt and he came into the game against Montana last year, that shite was laughably bad. I watched the whole game just to see how many points Montana would score.

Update: just looked at the roster. Seems homeboy took his talents elsewhere after that shitshow.

I believe UNI is 30-18-1 vs USD

No I dont cruise FCS message boards, I have been to the DakotaDome and many other places. The DakotaDome does not help due to size. The UniDome is small also but it seats more than 15k. The DakotaDome is what 10k if lucky?

Seats 10k. Plans to expand to 16k by adding a grandstand on the west side. Right in the middle of building a basketball arena, Dome renovations are phase 2.

I figured since you were talking FCS you might have visited some FCS message boards. They are filled with NDSU and SDSU fans that troll USD.

UNI and USD used to be in the same D2 conference in the 60s & 70s. They have just recently been in the same conference again. Much of that historic record is old.

The Coastal Carolina at Liberty showdown, which matches Big South co-champions from each of the past three seasons, has been moved up two days to Thursday, Nov. 19, when it will be televised by ESPNEWS at 7 p.m. Eastern.

INS also got a transfer from Indiana. Antonio Allen, Safety. Allen was arrested in Bloomington and charged with selling cocaine and heroin with a firearm - Level 2 felonies - as well as dealing methamphetamine, a lesser charge. Indiana subsequently kicked him off the team. IU's Defense was horrible, so who knows what to make of this.

Will never get the yearly love fest over McNeese. The only thing they have accomplished the past two seasons is almost beating Nebraska. No way they should be ahead of SLU, SFA, UCA, or maybe even NWSU. They are basically the "Notre Dame" of the SLC.

2 seasons.

More conference championships than the rest of the SLC combined. Last one coming as co-champs in 2009. So just filter it down to make yourself sound correct.

Can't help you on the playoff drought. Don't know what to tell you.

But don't act like McNeese isn't relevant in the conference every year.

No one mentioned a playoff drought, but getting a 6 seed and losing by 3 touchdowns isn't exactly impressive. And SHSU would have made a deeper run if they wouldn't have had to come to Hammond, America in the second round.

You kind of proved my point bringing up a 6 year old conference championship.

Don't see how they are putting ACU over NSU.

I also think my Demons will knock off SLU in week 1, going to be a huge game early on.

It will be a great game. Depending on what team had the best camp might determine the winner. This might be the most talented SLU team ever (yes losing BB3 we are still talented) but NWSU is the best they have been in a good while and they have given us fits the past 2 years. May the best team win but #lionup

Wouldn't surprise me to see SLU and NSU finish 1-2 in conference.

NSU should have the best team we've fielded in 10+ years. SLU should definitely be a contender again this year. I'm looking forward to a great week 1 game.

I think the Bison are biting off a little too much on this one. I guess the paycheck will be nice though. Second MVC team to go out there (SMS was the first)

The FCS' most dominant program has a date with one of the FBS' biggest powerhouses.

North Dakota State and Oregon announced Friday they will meet at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon, on Sept. 5, 2020.

The Bison, ranked No. 1 in the STATS FCS preseason poll, have won four straight national titles, while Oregon has won two Rose Bowls and reached two national championship games in the last five years. The Ducks are No. 5 in the FBS preseason coaches' poll.

The programs are a combined 106-10 since 2011.

I do not see Northwestern St. finishing 2nd in the SLC. I can see them 4-6, but the top two are Sam St and McNeese.

I think the battle for 3rd will be big, as it maybe for a playoff position between UCA, Southeastern, and Northwestern. I think SFA is getting the tradition love.

South Dakota played at Oregon last year. Actually was a decent game for a while. Ended up losing our starting QB to a broken hand though.

5 years is a long time, both programs could be doormats by then. Probably not, but we can all dream.
