My house was built in the late teens, maybe early 20's, and I don't even have those kinds of problems.

Biggest problem we have is having to replace rotting siding boards and a hand full of soft spots in the exposed rafters.

7000 is a nice size, but hardly massive in mansion sense. I know a couple of people that have some close to that or bigger in size and just maintain their home like normal people. Some have staff and some hire service contractors to maintain many items.


It sounds like the home had many items in disrepair and unmaintained. Tell them to thank their inspector. They did get one with a great reputation before buying a home of that size and price right?

People like celebrities have enough money to pay people to maintain their place. They definitely waste a shite ton of money but they have enough cash that they don't really care I guess.
