Not sure if this was already posted, but Arsenal will take on the MLS All-Stars on July 28 in San Jose. They will also play Chivas in LA on July 31.

so morata is a legit upper level striker?
I think people just need to wrap their head around the idea that we aren't going to just go out and sign an already established world class striker. There aren't many out there. Teams who have them aren't going to sell them.
We either have to get extremely lucky with some team willing to let a top striker go or you just have to hope that whoever Arsenal signs becomes that. People mocked how much United spent on Martial and he looks like he is going to be their starting CF for the next decade.
I absolutely love Morata's game. He feels like a perfect blend of Giroud and Welbz.

R/gunners has a nice comparison of Ibra and Morata at their ages for Juve.
I haven't seen enough of Morata but I think we can afford a riskier buy as we know what we have in Giroud, a 20 goal scorer who will go hot for 8 games and cold for 8. Alexis should also be more consistent this year. Hopefully.

Giroud was so good off the bench too. It is a role I think he could fill for a few more years.

Gotcha. If you had a choice of him or lukaku who would you go after?
Posted on 5/26/16 at 6:58 pm to bbap
I lean Lukaku, but that is probably more to do with the fact that he is more proven in the league and I just haven't watched Morata play all that often.
Then again ask me again after we see what price they go for

Oh no doubt. Price of course plays a factor just trying to get a feel for the kid based on talent alone.

Morata hasn't been a prolific goal scorer yet but has the potential to change that. He did play mostly as a secondary striker or came on as a sub. He did pick up double digit assist this year which means he would fit us perfectly. He also has a reputation for scoring in big
games. Something we can surely use.

Helluva run. #AntiGiroud...
Morata is a good player. Not sure he is a 20 goal League scorer yet. The most immediate real help is Higuain who has proven to be a very good scorer in top leagues since he was 20. He also does it for Argentina.

Just noticed the Swiss have a friendly on espn. I assume xhaka is playing. Going to check him out.

I'm watching. Before heading to Finns.

We're going after the gladbach lb? Which I get if Gibbs is on the way out and monreal is 30, but we needing an effing striker and central defender and 1-2 more midfielders.
Also saw possibly chambers will go out on loan so I'm not too worried about that position, sounds like it will definitely be added if we're going to send him out

The Wolfsburg LB. We don't need anymore midfielders. We need a striker and CB after this. After that possibly a winger depending on if we sell theo, and a RB depending on how we feel about jenkinson

Not just any LB either, one of the top 3/5 best in the world for cheap. Likely means is Gibbs is gone.

I'm good with that.
Also no more mf? After we lose 3?

What's the contingency when bellerin goes to bartha
Posted on 5/30/16 at 10:51 pm to Caplewood
We're not losing bellerin to barca this year. At worst they unsettle him and he tells he wants to go and we sell him next summer.
But Arsenal are in a different position than when Cesc left, plus Barcelona isn't quite the super hub of the Spanish national team like it was then. Plus once we say know they're going to have to get another RB this summer and if he's good then they're out of the market for awhile

quote:Chambers made the best XI for the Toulon Tournament playing at CB. Maybe Arsene gives him a chance there this preseason before sending him out on loan. I have no faith in that happening though.

I definitely think he could start for us. But if wenger won't play him he needs to get minutes so he's ready to go for us in a year or two obviously. I've said this before too so sorry for beating a dead horse here, but he looked great in a deeper holding midfield spot when he played there a few times as well. Rb is just not for him, he looked really out of place when wenger tried that
