KG just pitched 6.3 shutout innings against the Rangers in Baltimore. Was throwing mid 90's when lifted. Game is scoreless after 8 and is on Fox sports networks.

I hope the O's lose.. Pusy managers taking starters out when they are doing well later in games is bullshite. I think he was at 93 pitches... Screw it. let him go over 100. These managers and spoiled pitchers are ruining baseball...

Hope the Rangers win now that he's out

Well the Rangers did win. It was a good result--Gausman and Gallardo both pitched well enough to win most games, but neither got any run support. I usually root for the Rangers and hoped Gallardo could win, without Gausman losing. That didn't happen and wasn't likely to happen.
Gausman throws hard & has good movement on his pitches. I hope he can pitch that type of game often & he won't have to worry about being demoted to the minor leagues any more.

uh, gausman is coming off an injury. he's been working his way back. not to mention 93 pitches is plenty. it's a 162 game season. why are you going to overwork a pitcher in a game in early july? it has nothing to do with spoiling pitchers. it has more to do with not ruining a pitcher for no reason. ruining baseball? stop being a drama queen

Love when people correct somebody and they are wrong. 6.3 doesn't equal 7 and yes I know it's actually 6.333 but figure most people knew what he meant. Thanks for the information.

When talking about innings pitched in baseball, 6.3 would equal 7.

What?

In baseball each additional number behind the decimal indicates an out. So 6.3 would be 7 innings. 6.1 would be 6 1/3, 6.2 would be 6 2/3.

6.3 innings would mean Gausman accounted for 21 outs and that would translate to seven innings pitched.

Right.
It's not a big deal, but 6.1 was what he was looking for.
There's something about baseball that screams out, "Get the numbers right!"
