State Farm Insurance called today.

They said to expect a bill for 3000.00 because they have been undercharging us for my daughter's car insurance for three years because they had her birthday wrong.
Can we fight this?

I would think you should be able to win this fairly easy. I'm no lawyer but I would think there has to be something where if it's their fault they have to take the hit.

Drop the insurance and switch to another company if they push the issue. Nothing they can do so They'll zero out the charge.

Bull. They can't make you pay it. Switch. No collections no credit hit for auto insurance with state farm. Come back in six months, bet you a dollar all your policies are cheaper when you come back.

Call your agent... Let him/her know it's not your fault they're incompetent and that you don't feel comfortable dealing with an incompetent company any longer... And you'll be taking your business elsewhere

Lemme tell you something. You come to my office and we make that kind of mistake, you'd never even know. We'd take care of it on our side, through errors and omissions if necessary.
