I was @ LSU... That one stung for a while, but then again so did UAB. I don't think many posters realize how good it's been with 9 and 10 win seasons.

Alabama 1/9 first, and Miami of Ohio second.

1982 We had just beaten FSU 55-21 and clinched the Orange Bowl bid and then Tulane came into Tiger Stadium and beat us 31-28 in the Mud and rain
I remember watching this game on tv with my dad, i was a young teen. After LSU scored fans through oranges on the field so there was a bunch of them on the ground near the walls etc. After Tulane scored late their player picked up an orange and took a big bite out of it while staring at our fans...

The Curly Hulman/Jamie Howard Auburn game.

Remember it well. Interesting thing to watch was his defensive coordinator going postal on him on the sidelines. You read the guy's lips and you can see him screaming at Curley, "what the frick are you doing?"

1/9/12 hurt, but as a 12 year old in 1979 the USC game was a brutal. To this day, I read every article available about the game we should have won. The media covered very few teams, and USC was one of them. We almost beat one of the greatest teams of all times.

I was a sophomore in 79 and though that game could have gone either way it was an unbelievable, exciting, down to the wire game that we out played a more talented team and came up short. No crime there, 2006 we were f...ing robbed.

Just one more win in the '11 season and LSU is considered among maybe 2 or 3 others as the all time great team in CFB history.
Keep the QB that got you to 8-0 in for games 9-13 and it's a given. "Grass Man" couldn't stand a little prosperity and screwed up the Offensive Chemistry.......

To this day, I don't understand why JL wasn't at least given a series.

Because he had proven beyond all doubt that he could do nothing against bama. Period. And since the offensive line didn't bother to show up and spent the whole game with "ole'" blocking on the bama defensive line it would have been even worse than his previous games. Give it a rest. Nothing would have changed.

Nah, you could see it coming from the previous two games (Ark and GA). The offense had lost all momentum, due to personnel changes. I was pretty certain we had no chance. Most of my angst for that game centered on the coaches giving up.

Yes I believe the score was 19-7. And our only TD was opening kickoff return by green. Our offence was completely shutdown all game.

Punt return. The rest is correct. 19-7, offense shutdown.

'82 loss to Tulane - coming off big win over Florida State and lose to a bad Green Wave team...made me want to throw up.

Not even close. We beat that freaking team in their house and were forced to endure some real coaching obstinance as it removed any chance we had for the greatest season in LSU history.

I blame our ineptitude on offense just as much as the defense for the 2014 Bama loss. We had 1st and goal on the Bama 2-yard line in the waning moments and couldn't punch it in. Miles' idiocy (fake punt on 4th and 12, running Ware out of the wildcat formation on 4th and 2, etc) set up the loss to Bama in 2012, although it was ultimately "3rd and Chavis" that was the final blow.

Mettenberger played probably the game of his life in that Bama game. I felt like he deserved to have the ball in his hands on that 4th and 2. One quick slant or out route and the game is over.
