Yeah, it sucks to say the least.
I'm ready for them to send a couple torpedoes right up Sean's (I think that's his name, isn't it?) backside.

Finally this show was not afraid to kill off one of the good guys, just sucked it had to be that hot piece of eye candy. Using the Walking Dead rules regarding black characters, there can be only one. Hot Israeli chick gets killed off just as the MIT chick enters the picture. Looks like she would be a freak in bed, still not as hot as Israeli chick. I forgot about the doctor, I'd hit it.
My usual list of critiques. Okay, so let's say there is a massive outbreak and the total deconstuction of society, communications are down, etc. Would any of you bother to check your cell phones? Would any of you bother to carry your cell phones? Would any of you even bother charging your cell phones? Yeah, didn't think so. Who the heck is out there watching this message on the Valkyrie Bluetooth network.
Where in the heck do civilians get RPG's? Seriously, how did they even know the Navy was out there. Just happened to be out patrolling the waters in a yacht with some RPGs just looking to tangle with a destroyer class Naval ship. Yeah, sure.
I'm guessing they go back to the oil rig to look for the backpack.

Yeah... when they rolled her onto her side, my wife said "they better get that shrapnel out of her back". Uhh.. that wasn't shrapnel, was it? That WAS her back, wasn't it?

Big piece of shrapnel that if removed would have been instant death was my guess.
So did Chandler go under the knife to get the rest of his shrapnel out. That was a Jesse Ventura "I ain't got time to bleed" moment.

I assumed at first the attack was the immunes when they said it was regular American's it definitely stretches credibility. As does people having phones on the beach. Even if they did have them and were charging them, wouldn't then be fried after the flotilia was attacked and they went in the water? Would make much more sense to be using radios. I can buy maybe the immunes having and using them, but not the citizenry.
ETA: Though why would a pandemic virus knock out cell networks? Nuclear attack, asteroid, alien invasion ok, but why would a virus?

I couldn't tell if it was shrapnel or backbone.

Don't think so. But it looks like Rachel's back in good graces. So there's that.

I like the show, I've wondered how they are going to keep it fresh since it's about them being on a ship and that just seems like it would limit stories to me, but oh well.
With that said, tonight's episode annoyed me a bit. First off, I picked the heavyset guy that died on the rig out the moment I saw him. All he needed was a red shirt. I hate obviousness like that.
Hot Israeli chick is dead What kind of bullshite is this?
The location of the rig...
1. They said it was how many miles out? 125? And they took a fricking dingy? Okay, the choppah was busy and they were having to stick close to shore for fear of a sneaky sub attack while their sonar is fubar'd. I can let that go, I guess.
2. How the hell did the locals know which rig it was? There's an assload of oil rigs in the Gulf. Finding the correct one so quickly would be almost like winning the lottery, unless someone on the sub had told them the location (but nothing in the show mentions this).
3. What I can't let go is that they said the platform was far out from any landmass (and even underscored it out by showing the location on a map). Was that the fricking island from LOST that appeared in the distance in multiple scenes? It damned sure wasn't any place in Louisiana because it had mountains. Not hills, not sand bars, fricking mountains. This was just

yeah i noticed that too, that's just terrible and kind of lazy, even if all the stock footage you have is with mountains in the back ground, can't you edit them out

They said it was civilians because the boat was civilian, but I assumed it was one of the immunes...But since they killed them, I guess there's no way to find that out so we just have to stick with them saying it was civilians

Ned Ramsey told Sean Ramsey that it was civilians and was concerned about the network being out. Seems unlikely the immunes would knock out their network on purpose.

Ah, my mistake, I was thinking it was Nathan James that had said that.

The new girl created it... right? But did she set it up on the oil rig or did Sean find out about it, recruit her and help her set it up on the oil rig? Didn't catch if they explained it. Or did she already have it up and running on the oil rig and Sean put it to his use and she went along with it?

Speaking of LOST, that's the chick that played Ben's daughter. Just realized that.

I think she said she set it up and Ramsey's found her. She said something about she was tracking info that the Navy was in the artic or something like that. POTUS even said something about top secret missions being easy fodder for conspiracy nuts.

I don't know about all that. When that chick came on, even my wife went, "damn she's hot."

My wife wondered why, if she's living on a oil rig during the middle of an apocalypse would she take the time to dye half of her hair red. Or where she got extensions.
