Will be there soon and i'm trying to get some ideas together. Probably catching the turnpike troubadours on saturday night, but need some recs for the rest of the time. Going in on Friday. I assume there is good mexican, but i'm not sure if this place is with regards to good bars and food....

Chris Madrids is legit
Rosarios is one of my favs but is closer to downtown.
if you're going through the northside then new braunfels is not too far and they have tons of places including Gruene which is great for adults only or kids. wineries, great food, music

Great property. Makes you forget that you're actually in San Antonio.
For dinner:
Bohanan's Prime Steakhouse
Paesano's on the Riverwalk or 1604
Boudro's
Perry's Steakhouse
And I am a fan of Fogo de Chao.
For lunch:
Dough Pizzeria Napoletana
Chris Madrid's
And for breakfast:
The Magnolia Pancake Haus

If you're into beer, Freetail is on 1604 at W. Military. Great selection of unique beers and they usually have some bottles for sale.

Jacala Mexican Food. Great food and it is the oldest continuously family owned Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. Est. 1949.

Grape Creek and Becker Vineyards would be places to start if you did want to do the 290 wine trail.

We stayed there the week of Memorial Day. Cibolo Moon, at the resort, has a great breakfast buffet.
