If you don't mind looking like a toothless Bama fan, that is.

You wouldn't happen to be going to Sullivan Dental in St.Francisville would you? ( Otherwise knows as "Tits and Teeth")
I went for cleaning and both times was told I had a cavity dangerously close to a nerve. Told them I'd wait till it gave me an issue. 3rd occasion I asked how the cavity looked and he was puzzled because the XRays didnt show any cavity

Eloquently stated. You are truly a man of words and letters.

Indeed. You can try to twist it any way you like - but when you run a practice efficiently and offer necessary services, performed well and at a fair price, you don't have to screw people to earn money.
You should send me your numbers - I could probably teach you how to make the basics of dentistry work for you. Then you wouldn't have to try so hard to whore out your practice on a message board. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.

I had a great dentist but she moved away. I used to go to my uncle before her, but he became an Ortho and got away from dental stuff.
I have had two crowns, one came loose and the tooth looked really bad underneath it, but I reset it and all is fine.
I need to find a new dentist but was waiting for my insurance to hit the six month mark so I can actually use it if I need fillings or anything.

So trying to keep your original teeth is bad? How is that?

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement and my practice is testament to that.

No thanks. I really don't need any assistance from a has been like you that is obviously frustrated with his meager existence.

Actually, I was simply trying to help a fellow poster out who had a question about something I do for a living. Just giving back to a site that I have received tons of entertainment and information from. Could you posts a few links where you have helped anyone?

Any opinions on over diagnosing cavities?
I can say that I've had Dentists tell me I had a cavity that needed filling.......ignored it..............gone to a different dentists the next go round and been told I had no cavities.
Then, for years, never another diagnosis of cavities.
So, dunno what the first guy was thinking.

You are so full of shite! You've whined on here about how much money you lose on hygiene and act like you do it as a "favor" to your patients even though it - miraculously - costs you money. Likewise, you bitch about how hard it is to fill out insurance forms, and act like you're doing the patients a favor by filling it out and accepting assignment. You are far too entitled with this attitude that you are doing patients a favor by offering them the very basic essentials of dental care.

I'll remember that on my next day off (oh yeah - I retired 5 years ago so every day is my day off) while I'm at the track running laps in my new Vette trying to beat my lap times from my Porsche while you're slaving away at work filling cavities that aren't there to make up for your "loss leading" hygiene department.

Is "porche" French for porch?
You know what has even bigger pricks on the inside than a Porsche? My flame red Vette.

I've posted as much helpful information in dental threads as you have - except I always tell the truth. I don't have to sweep the shite under the rug to protect anyone.

VetteGuy, I've always done the same. Then one day in another dental thread, he was bitching about hygiene being a money loser. I showed him how the numbers work. He got butthurt and began throwing out random accusations about me - skimming money, insurance fraud, etc. Since then, I enjoy being a pain in his arse. And I have a lot more free time on my hands than he does since I retired at 44. And it gets him so riled up - I just can't resist.

Seriously though, I feel bad that you're losing money on freshman-level dentistry. Send me your numbers and I'll help you out. No charge.

Are dentists the new mechanics of the health industry? Jeez. I'd be irate!

Ya'll just need to frick and get it over with
Posted on 6/17/15 at 8:44 pm to TheOcean
I just have to call bullshite when I see it, that's all. Bottom line: if you're not making a profit off your hygiene department in a dental practice, you're doing it wrong. All you have to do is treat the patients properly, treat them well, and treat them in a timely fashion - which is what every patient wants. I was willing to help the guy - and in return he starts accusing me of shady business practice because HE doesn't know what the frick he is doing??? And then he acts like he's god's gift to the patient and is doing them a favor by treating them. WTF??? That's exactly the kind of shite that is ruining the profession, and I'll do whatever I can to rid the profession of guys like that.

So ex-doc, should I have my wisdom teeth removed?
Posted on 6/17/15 at 8:56 pm to Cdawg
Only if they are causing you trouble or are very likely to - that's another cash cow that is heavily over-treated.

Who would have thought that a dental thread has turned into a Ruzil/911Moto bitch fest?
