Cokes

I think the raptors had a change of heart at the end because it wasn't as chaotic with so many other folks around, not to mention the setting, I'd consider it plausible that they couldn't kill Pratt

Also, I don't think the IR killed any raptors until the end when it slung one off of her. The others were killed when they were chasing the truck or one looked to be killed with an rpg

Don't forget that Pratt had calmed down one of the raptors in the initial hunt even after it had turned sides before they blew it to smoke with a rocket

I Rex killed two. One was killed by an explosive

None of them died chasing the truck

He was the only one they respected, but they didn't give a frick about the other hunters they smoked during the whole jungle scene

I know it isn't exactly the most reliable source, but Wikipedia disagrees with the physical dimensions of the velociraptor.

6.8 feet long, 1.6 feet high at hip. Just kind of funny what was picked to be the ultimate killer in these movies.

It was a made up dinosaur pretty much when Michael Crichton wrote the novel. After it came out, Utah raptor fossils were discovered, which is much close in size to the JP world velociraptors.

Also, was that the same T-Rex? I didn't remember them saying it was, but it was clearly the same island and T-Rex would've still been there (assuming they live more than 20/25 years).

I heard in a previous interview that it was the T-rex from the first movie, then read it was the baby T-rex from the "Lost World" another time.

They should of had more than one T-rex, imo

Also why did the T-Rex decide to walk around instead of eat them? He was tired or something? Movie was kinda retarded. From the older son who clearly was going spend those nights masturbating to the Fiendish Dr. Wu to the terrible military raptor storyline. Yeah it's a popcorn summer movie but on a Transformers level.

Bonus: Why was the young kid upset his aunt wasn't going to spend the day with them when they hadn't seen her in 7 years? Her personality tells us she's not the fun aunt type, so that kid might not even remember her.

How is this company not sued into dust for at least the 3rd time?

Best way I can sum it up for me was that there were a lot of really stupid parts/things throughout the movie, the acting was overly bad at times, and it was stupidly cheesy at times. But I liked it because dinosaurs.

Pretty much my feelings. I feel this is an objectively bad movie full of terrible characters, a laughable plot, and more contrivances and blatant audience manipulation you can shake a stick at, but... frickING DINOSAURS!

I had a good time. I like dinosaurs, just like everyone else. I wish the dinosaurs were in a better movie, but dinosaurs doing dino things is enough to keep me entertained.

That's not a bad way to put it.

I really liked the movie, but it could've been so much better. And really, cutting out some of the useless/unnecessary shite would've made it better in itself.

ALso, I forgot to say this before but I agree with the person that said Bryce Dallas Howard's acting was pretty terrible in the beginning of the movie, but it gradually got better throughout. Nobody in the movie did exceptionally well (though I thought Pratt and the kids were pretty good), but nobody's acting (outside of D'onofrio) really took away from anything. The effects, while a little CGI-heavy, were still pretty well done.

Basically, there's a lot to like and dislike about the movie...I just wish there was less to dislike.

Yeah, I don't think the acting was bad per se (though D'onofrio was a step away from a Snively Whiplash mustache and tying someone to a railroad track), but all of the characters were just designed to be either reckless, stupid, and/or horrible. The wife and I decided after the movie that this was by design, making it easier to root for the dinosaurs to kill all of them.

It totally worked. I was cheering for the pterodactyls to rip the flesh from any and all people in the film (except the two control room sidekicks, who were easily the best non-dinosaur part of the movie).

yep

I saw it last night and when my wife asked what I thought my response was "well that was utterly ridiculous, but you know, dinosaurs"

This movie was garbage. Trained, Go Pro wearing Raptors running along side of a dirt bike. And I thought it couldn't get any worse than a T-Rex loose in the city. Oh, and lets not forget Blue running in slow motion towards ID-Rex. I don't want a cheesy JP movie. The beauty behind the movie and book Jurassic Park, was the science behind it. The whole life finds away aspect is what made them great. The Dinosaurs finding ways around the Fail safes was part of the mystery.

So is it widely accepted now that a lot of dinosaurs had fur/feather?

I was laughing hysterically when Bryce Howard was outrunning the T-rex in her heels

They even did a close up of her feet in them as if to say, "don't even care!"

So was the T-Rex at the end of the movie the same T-Rex from JP?

Yes. The Jurassic World Park website confirmed this. I think they actually did a really good job showing how the TRex aged over 20+ years.

I spent more time on the Jurassic World page than I'd care to admit

I am so glad you linked this. Earlier in the thread I made note of how it seemed strange that the raptor pen seemed to be out on it's own, away from the park, and didn't seem to be an attraction at all.

As the page says:

Safety First! The Velociraptor is our park's most intelligent dinosaur. Always on the hunt, they are not yet trained for public display.

Guess I should have visited the park website.
