Looking into selling my F-150 and going with a 3/4 ton for pulling/towing. Im looking at 08-11 models. Who made the best engine/trans/chassis combos during those years?

Not the 08-10 Ford. They had the 6.4 power stroke that is expensive to keep running. The 6.7 came out in 2011 in the F250/350's. It's a better engine than the 6.0/6.4

Duramax

Just check autotrader and see what's listed the most and don't buy that. There is a reason you see so many power strokes in that year range for sale

Are you pulling heavy and pulling weekly or more? If not the expense of a diesel is not needed. Unless you just want one which is cool. I did the diesel thing and it got to be a PITA. The maintenance is exponentially more expensive than your f150. The oil changes are at least $100 if you do it yourself . i finally got sick of it and bought a 3/4 with a gas engine and couldn't be happier. I pull my tractor or TT occasionally and the 6 liter gas is more than enough. I can't pull a hill at 70 without downshifting anymore though is the only downside I can come up with.

Duramax or cummins stay away from power stroke. I keep my mechanic well paid with power strokes in the shop.

Duramax for those years. The Cummins was good those years but it's a fuel hog. Don't get a Ford that doesn't have a 6.7 and preferably don't get an early 6.7.
