Really? A Civil War burn? Is that all you have left in the tank?

Wow. That one cut deep.

After a week of rantings by the fans of Oo-Lah-Lah referring to their team as "UL" or "the Univ. of LA", I have concluded they all fall into 2 categories:
1. They lack the minimal level of literacy to understand the legislation barring any univ. from branding itself as "UL" or "Univ. of LA" w/o including the location of the campus in its name.
2. They are employing the strategy espoused by Joseph Goebbels: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

Well folks I now take my leave... To paraphrase a famous rant

You are who I thought you were...

Some intelligence, but not much... some common sense, but not much.... mostly back bayou pick-em-up I love da tigers more than life itself minions

But with that it has been fun... I will be back on Tuesday (Monday if we sweep)... to either offer congrats or to accept them.... Then I'll not grace your boards again...

I'll leave you with a set of undeniable truths

1. You have the better team... but that does not always translate into wins in baseball.. so lets play the games

2. You have a better athletic program... how could you not

3. Our brand is Louisiana... neither you nor your legislators can stop the fans... we will prevail

4. I don't like your chosen athletic program.... in fact I hate your chosen athletic program... Not looking for any conciliatory common ground...

5. LSU fans are the most obnoxious, unwelcoming of any fans.. UL fans the opposite... We both live our culture..

6. Finally these Cajuns won't go away..... I hope your team of All-Americans don't tighten up too much in the 9th when it is still close and we wont go away... hell who am i kidding... I know they will

I'll be watching from Cajun Field.... Good bye

Hey, it's the LSU fans that brought up the Civil War. They're quick to come up with ties to the war when you bring up their generic mascot. But try to name a campus building after their most direct tie to the worst of the war... and watch them hem and haw.

They're going to have a blast.

And if there's a rain delay dance off or rock/paper/scissors off, we'll win that too.

Here is a little fact I would like to share:

There are MORE ESPN Writers that will claim LSU has the best baseball fans in College sports than the number of ESPN Writers that call UL Lafayette. "Louisiana"

There are more cows in the state of Iowa than there are pediatricians with the last name O'Halloran.

Since we're just throwing non-sequitur stats together...

I wish you could understand how ridiculous you sound when you say things like this. I really do.

"I don't care what the people that run our school or run our state say! We will get what we want by stomping our feet and holding our breath until someone listens!"

Actually, the pepper muppet is an improvement over the Mr. Cajun guy that used to run around. I'd rather if they just got rid of the on-field mascots.
