I don't understand how "hope you enjoy the rest of your career" is grounds for intimidation of a cop...
Posted on 5/28/15 at 8:55 pm to Golfer
intimidation of a cop can mean whatever they want it to mean

Yeah for people who are expected to be a little more thick skinned and maintain calm in tough situations, they sure get their panties knotted up pretty easy. You hurt my feelings you're under arrest. What a waste of taxpayer money and time. #batonrougemurdercapital

Cops are easily intimidated which is why BRPD doesn't patrol north BR.

So fourth district is basically the land of unicorns and ice cream then, right?

Sounds like the reporter was being a douche.
But after seeing this

took photos using a flash, which diverted the officers’ attention and put “their lives in danger.”

BRPD is gonna get more than they wanted out of this. Chris Nakamoto is going to rip the department to shreds.
Posted on 5/28/15 at 9:04 pm to novabill
what was the reporter doing there at 2:30 am anyway?
Posted on 5/28/15 at 9:04 pm to Slinky
Well maybe brpd hasn't gone to this extreme but when you launch swat assaults on a baby in a crib while thugs are freely thuggin it up in thug land without repercussions it looks kind of bad. I remember a keg party at a private residence back in 99 where 13 units and two vans full of abc gangbusters swarmed in and took kegs, poured out every ounce of alcohol on the property and made multiple arrest just due to a call for loud music. Imagine if they took that approach with drug slinging murdering thugs. Nah too easy to get them punk arse college kids. Really?

He's a douche but it's a leap to call that a threat.
It's pretty much the type of reaction I'd expect from our moron cops. Not all but many obv.

Probably works the overnight shift. He did a live spot on the 10pm news. Then heads back to the station and monitors police scanner.

The report says the officer took the comment to mean that Buffington would have the officer fired, so the reporter was then arrested and booked into the Parish Prison.
WTF? The quote meant, 'you have a shitty job' not i'm going to fire you, IMHO

Well after the numerous cases that police departments have lost for charging people for taking pictures while they are in the course of their duties (LEO's do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy while performing their duties in public) I'd expect these charges will be thrown out in time.
