Is your understanding of the world so small as to not be able to realize others have different experiences than you?
My understanding is so clear that I realize other people who are uncooperative and hostile towards police are far, far more likely to end up in undesirable situations. How can you dispute that? There's a reason people like the BL in the video and myself have had different life experiences with cops. Its because she acts one way, and I've acted the opposite. Guess which one of us has had the better experience with cops?

the frick did I leave out?
She wasnt under arrest when she was told she could make the call. Since when are you not allowed to walk 2 feet away from a cop when you aren't under arrest?
quote:
Uhh no that is not how it went down The cop said he'd give her two minutes to call her BF to confirm if she had to give them her name. (Which she does not have to do according to the law in California) He instead gives her maybe 20 seconds before he starts grabbing her and trying to cuff her, pushes her into a fence, and then shoves her to the ground. That isn't begin reasonable at all.
where is the part about her walking away? Direct quote asshat.

what law did the woman break that entitled the cop to initiate the arrest?
Another posters summary of the video isn't relevant to that question.

Seems relevant to me. She is a bad person and was going to get arrested eventually. They basically prevented a future crime.
I assume you mean in today's society, which would still be a bad assumption. People from all backgrounds have managed to lead good lives. I know many black people that were born out of wedlock that have avoided trouble for the law, and for the ones that do get married or shotgun married, how long do those marriages last? Children should be planned, and the parents should be committed to being there for the child at least until the child reaches adulthood.

She had the right not to cooperate. He didn't have the right to assault her. Pretty simple.

Just as an FYI....many people in California can not afford to get married due to tax brackets. I know a large number of professionals with children who choose to not marry.

So when something bad happens to a cop that is your answer as well, should have just been more careful? Or maybe coos should not encounrer bad guys?

Plain and simple

she's 8 months pregnant and trying to fight people in a parking lot.

You never turn your back to a police officer and walk away when you're being questoned.
So now she was being questioned, you do know that you don't have to answer any questions, right. If she was not told that she was being detained then she can leave. The cop fricked up, period. Could it have been avoided? Probably, but we can't know that now because it wasn't.

And I have said, multiple times actually, that I'm not defending the cops actions. I've repeatedly said he overreacted and was in the wrong.
I'm not nor have I ever been speaking on what is or isn't legal...my entire point is that probably over 90% of cases like this we see everyday can be EAAAAAASILY avoided if people just act like a normal, civil human being. Just say your name, say what happened, and the whole thing is over with.

not even interested in the legal aspect of this shite at all to be honest. Most likely the reason a judge threw it out.
I'm more interested in how people can be so fricking stupid, especially at a school and get themselves arrested in the first place.

Battery is probably more technically accurate.
Posted on 5/28/15 at 2:56 pm to WDE24
And if nobody ever broke the law we wouldn't even need cops! We can keep going in that circle all day, my point is still valid and you know it is.

what did I leave out?
can you please answer that?
in the video at 3:50 he says "Ma'am, I'm going to give you two minutes."
at 3:59 he decides that she doesn't get two minutes and says "Ok, all right. Ma'am just give me your name please, just give me your name."
at 4:06 she makes a slight move away form him and thats when he follows her and starts putting his hands on her.
Her moving slightly away while talking on the phone after being told she could, while not being arrested, and while not being detained, does not mean she is the one that fricked up or that the cop was fine and dandy to put his hands on her.
Sorry but I really dont see why you think otherwise.
