I'd be surprised if he could beat out Brian Dixon at this point much less Breaux, Swainn, Wilson, and SJB.

It would be close talent-wise, but I'd give SJB the edge because of age and being a 2nd round pick last year.

To be fair, I think Lynch did that to every player on our defense on that play, possibly even the backups.

Rather than start a new thread, couldn't we just refresh the annual "Should we..."
Tracy Porter threads and bring them up to the front page

No only because Saints have good depth -Browner-Lewis-Wilson-Breaux-Williams-Swann-Dixon-S.J.Baptiste-Frederick an it will be a dog fight to see who will be the top 5 or 6 to make final cut.Otherwise i would be ok for a vet Min. contract.

Absolutely.

Having said that, he hasn't been worth a damn in 4-5 years.

If/when it's time for him to retire, I'd say definitely. Give him the 1 day contract to come back and retire a Saint. Guy made probably the 2 single biggest plays ever for the Saints, definitely biggest defensive plays.

Funny I don't think of SJB as depth more like camp body and if porter could not beat out a camp body then the answer is no
